Among the tsunami of suggestive comments, I trust there were a few morsels of useful information. If nothing else, it has warned your daughter away from living near HOLers, or convicted sex offenders.

Or other potential encounters with "steam railway enthusiasts"

And just to add, the confidence in your daughters ability is admirable. However, interviews ain't what they used to be. There may be hidden internal promotions that are already decided, and external candidates are only there to make up the numbers.

I'm sure she'll be fine

If 'uncle Tom' wasn't, he will be now.

I've lived 8 miles from Didcot since 1981, so I will be able to provide a wealth of information on the area.

This really is not a bad area to live now - much better than 40 years ago.
Good connections and good employment (normally) make property a bit expensive though.

Drop me a line if you need any info.

Good luck with the project.
H.

Harwell looks well cool. A bit better than the chicken farm my daughter will be working in just up the M40. Anyone know accommodation near Brackley?

Plenty of houses going up in Brackley, but even more in Banbury, and huge numbers in Bicester.

I guess estate agents are generally the places to visit for rentals as well as their core sales business.

Brackley is a nice little town, the Red Lion in Evenley is well worth a visit.

Ahh, chickens from Brackley... I was travelling up the M40, when a few crates of live chickens fell of the lorry just in front of me!

Harwell is far from cool - it's an ordinary village, but has a very large science site - formerly the Atomic Energy Authority - so excellent for science centred employment.

For Didcot living in or around the north of Newbury isn't a bad idea, about 25 minutes drive up the A34,towards Oxford.
