Biden is there for one main reason.

He isn't Trump.

Any one of the main Democratic candidates would probably have beaten him but Biden was picked because of his popularity in his home state of Pennsylvania which was thought could be critical. In fact it didn't matter. He would have won anyway.

No amount of excuses about "vote harvesting" or the general "unfairness" of postal voting can alter the fact that Trump's popularity rating was consistently below his unpopularity rating in all polls and by an average of around 10 points. That matters.

Your idea that the size of Trump's Twitter following compared to Biden's matters is really pretty funny. Many people kept an eye on him who had nothing but contempt for him. You really ought to have also read the responses to his tweets. There were sycophants for sure but there were also many from serious commentators tearing him to shreds. No need to do that with Biden.

I suppose these could be described as reasonably put arguments.

I just disagree, I think vote harvesting was a significant factor in the election and I'm uncomfortable about it within the election.

As previously stated, Trump is a marmite figure, which does drive engagement, however I just don't believe the far less interesting Biden would have gained that number of votes without significant help from the system.

I think time will reveal how true or not that is.

My own positions and arguments aren't a problem to anyone, least alone myself.

Your's, in contrast, give serious concern to everyone. Ad hominems aren't arguments. They are attempts at diversion to avoid having to admit defeat. They are the tactics of the schoolyard bully who would really like to punch his opponent but knows the teacher is watching.

I have no desire to punch you or anybody else.

I'm just no physical coward, however I'm retired from challenging soy boys who seemed all for it until their offers were taken up.....But all the snowflakey and moaning took all the fun out of it.

It is. Some fail. They are humans.

And consequently as susceptible as anyone else to the infiltration that is responsible for so many ills.

The whole pardon system is a joke. Not specific to Trump – as in, the whole system, ever. Why does it even exist? Ridiculous tradition which ironically goes against pretty much every legitimate legal/democratic framework.

I am no physical coward as I have faced many physical challenges during my life. However, I have never ever, not once, had a physical fight with anyone and regard "challenging" anyone you either dislike or disagree with as a sign of weakness and not of strength.

I have noticed a number of the posters here seem to enjoy the prospect of violence tomorrow. I find such sentiments very strange. Almost every country has a history of violence in it's early days but peaceful co-existence is the keystone of democracy. Anyone who seeks to get what they want through violence once democracy has been established deserves everything that's coming their way.

I have to say I am not well informed when it comes to the pardon system but it does come across as a mass distribution of 'Get out of jail free' cards. Judging from your post am I to assume this is correct?

I suppose your interpretation of what "infiltration" means in these circumstances isn't mine. For me it implies a deliberate attempt by an opposing viewpoint to insert an activist. Not human failure.

I need to do more reading about it but yes, the way it's used that would appear to be an accurate statement. Maybe it's origins were in allowing pardons to be issued on compassionate grounds, or maybe for instances where people were wrongly or incorrectly incarcerated but these days it seems like a complete joke, about as anti-American/democratic as you can get.

If that is correct I am inclined to agree. That said however, they do still insist it is necessary to have access to firearms in case we try to invade them again so can't be too shocking.

Proud to say my uncle is one of, if not the only British person to have ever attempted that!

It's really simple. Biden isn't Trump. That's all it took.

Are you seriously suggesting that you actually believe that voter fraud/harvesting accounted for sufficient votes to have made a difference?

Seriously? When there is no evidence at all?
