Trump actually managing to pull off presidential for a second time with his farewell speech. Who’d have thought it

Reading that a lot of his ‘allies’ are not going to his awkward send off tomorrow - who is actually going to be there? Maybe he should pardon the insurrectionists and invite them along to pad it out a bit.

Who do you think wrote it for him?

For sure they weren't his words or sentiments.

He must be trying to make a last impression in the minds of the Republican Senators who hold his future in their hands.

Of course, I know that

His first speech was a massive love letter to the republicans

It’s just so jarring to see it. The fact that a president acting presidential is so unique says it all I suppose. It’s a reminder that the temporary tear in the space time continuum is closing.

The point is that you make statements of absolute fact based on your understanding of unimpeachable sources whilst everyone else believes conspiracy theories also my original point about judges was an attempt to highlight how many things can be attributed to infiltration not an allegation but by all means carry on bloviating.

That's simply untrue. I offer opinions on what might be fact but I won't describe them as such without evidence. Conspiracy theories are very different. They are hypothesises which take some established facts and weave them together with ideas, which are often wildly improbable, into a new scenario. Not everyone else believes conspiracy theories. In truth most people who have been around for a while can recognise them very easily.

I think your Judge analogy doesn't work, for the reasons I explained in my previous answer.

Once again; it wasn’t an analogy. It was a joke.
People believe what they want to believe. Confirmation bias is very powerful.
Being around for whatever length of time is no guarantee of wisdom. Trump has been around for a long time and even though he reached a job only 44 people had done in history he wasn’t overly wise was he?

Here's my (final) take on it all:

Trump is and was never a career politician: he was blunt, abrasive and undiplomatic. The political establishment hated him for that (he beat them at their own game), and they went out of their way to bring him down no matter what - these efforts were not even limited to the Democrats. We've seen the 4 year culmination of this, and the pliant simpletons (I can name a few on here) still eagerly suckle at the teat of this rampant misinformation campaign until they are worked up into an utter frenzy. God, I fear for what will sustain their feeble intellects when the "Orange man bad" is no longer living rent-free in their empty heads.

Biden is a career politician: he has a murky past, he is a f***ing creep around children (if you can find the videos that have now been memory-holed), he is utterly compromised in his family's dodgy dealings with China, Russia and the Ukraine (god knows elsewhere), he has a terrible legislative history, his son is a walking disaster zone and (if the pictures I've seen are genuine) a shoe-in for 15-20 years minimum in the slammer. But... he is a career politican, and he has the cover and protection from a new branch of the US government: the media.

So, with this media fawning, hyper-partisan, liberal-dominated, covering up, not holding him to account, running interference, shilling for him, censoring his political opponents:

Does anyone have any realistic expectations that these people will hold Biden to account when he screws up?

I don't.

A fine post.
Breath of fresh air. I've been suffocating.

Well, this is their preferred guy of the two and as such they own what comes next.

Biden....well in fact the entire Democratic party, excepting Tulsi Gabbard and a literal handful of others are a nightmare for the future of America.

You're right, the media suppressed the criminality and frankly degeneracy during the election and anyone honest knows that Biden is up to his ears in corruption.

Mr and Mrs Normie, out there who voted Biden....especially what remains of the middle class will probably deny they ever did in a year or so.

I've got stuff to do later so I should be sleeping but I can't.
Yesterday was rough, I won't deny it.
I've never cared too much about U.S elections in the past.
But this one's got me soul searching.
And then I saw Trump's speech from yesterday and I remembered that we haven't had the storm yet.
I really think he's still got something up his sleeve.
At the 11th hour there just has to be a final twist.
Peace to all and God bless.
Good night.
