If not,why not.

For one thing you need a replacement.

What's your solution - hire the first person available ?

The players must be pretty p****ed off with the tactics now and clearly aren't enjoying their football. The defence isn't playing well, but at least 2 of the goals came from PVA - when we have eze playing wide left and 2 centre forwards, we need a left back to defend, not play higher up the pitch than eze. Wr have 2 defensive midfielders who get overrun every game. We have 2 centre forwards who although are c**p get no service at all. When you're not enjoying your football and are frustrated by tactics and team mates, it's difficult to play well.

You are making a good argument for the need to get schlupp back quickly.

Tomkins to stiffen central defence.

MacArthur to break up midfield.

And Wilfred to provide that spark in attack and draw defenders.

That said with the players we fielded we should not have been so weak and ineffectual against a team below us in the table.

I am an advocate for Roy doing a holding job to allow us an opportunity to undertake proper due diligence on a replacement. But yesterday's schitt performance makes that argument more difficult to defend.

Roy is in serious danger of having as his legacy an ignominious sacking to end his career.

Just my opinion, but I don't think that will happen.

I see us gaining enough points to stay up with Roy still in charge, and then no new contract offered after that.

The difference this season compared to previous ones is that when we've lost we've generally deserved it, when we've drawn we've often been somewhat lucky, and when we've won it's also often felt somewhat fortuitous.

We got off to a good start against Saints and Man Utd, but that was clearly down to us having a proper preseason and those two teams not having decided to prepare properly.

When I think across the season it really seems amazing that we have 29 points. By contrast Brighton have been unlucky not to have more points and were it not for an impotent frontline earlier in the season would likely already be above us. They have shown you can transition from an ultra defensive team (like under Hughton) to a more attractive style without breaking the bank and it's galling that it is our biggest rivals that are the ones achieving that.

With regard to Copper I was reading comments from Swansea fans who say he is tactically clueless and doesn't use his subs. If true that sounds very concerning if the club really are interested in him.

Yep, I would say interestingly for me the only two satisfying performances this season have been the draws with Leicester and Tottenham, we actually looked like a team in both those games. Man U was great but as mentioned you have to look at them and Leeds we were a tad fortunate but I think we deserved it that day.

The rest stinks of fortuitous stumbling through with an ever present threat the luck will run as will the points, let alone any prospect of scoring a goal or keeping them out, and I think Wilfs injury is the realisation of that.

I’m inclined to be pessimistic but I really can’t see where we will next pick up points, the manager has proved he does not know how to get anything without Wilf in the team and we look to be falling apart at the seams.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I agree. However it all depends how long Wilf is out for. If no return is imminent the stats dictate we will not achieve any more points until he does. He’a not the only one but during his tenure with us it’s starkly evident he has not been able to find a solution to Wilf not playing. We barely score without him let alone accumulate any points .

To those who suggest that Roy critics should find another club to support I have an alternative.
They could follow Roy to whichever club he next joins (should this happen) and continue to support him there and leave the rest of us to continue to support Palace.

Brighton's 'Net spend' under Potter has been nearly £70 Mill.

I know they've spent more than us, but they haven't gone mad and will probably pick up a tidy profit if Lamptey moves on that will wipe out a big chunk of that. They have other players that could turn a solid profit too like Bissouma, Mac Allister and Trossard. Thankfully the one thing we still have that they don't is Zaha. On his day he still wipes the floor with any of their players.

To balance this all managers from 2015 have not solved this. Partially because we have set teams up to his strengths.

I would throw the 0-0 with Arsenal into the hat. It was the one game where the opposition were at full strength, there were no red cards, no dubious VAR decisions and we actually looked the more likely to win. Coincidentally, it was also one of Tomkins's rare appearances. One of the strangest things of the season though is probably that we played just about our best attacking football in the first half of the 0-7 defeat to Liverpool!

Perhaps that's the point. Maybe this has been confirmed and roy is playing out the season as lame duck. When the person at the top goes demob happy this tends to filter down and contaminate everything.

I thought we were a little unfortunate not to win at West Ham.
