No surprise that the latest reports this week are now showing almost 90% of COVID patients currently in Intensive Care are unvaccinated.

That had started out as being in London hospitals but it now looks to being replicated across the country, as more data is being published.

It really isn’t difficult to understand that the risk of serious illness is much lower for a vaccinated individual than for an unvaccinated individual and also that the risk of transmission for a vaccinated individual is much lower than for an unvaccinated individual.

Careful. You risk upsetting the "I'll do whatever I damn like" brigade by posting common sense based on hard facts. They'll want to ban you.

When you look at how many people have been seriously ill, that figure is tiny and that was when the virus has at its height even before vaccines.

Tiny?!

Thus far we’ve had 619,000 people admitted to Hospital with COVID-19.

(Figures accurate as of today at 18:11hrs from the official statistics at Coronavirus.data.gov.uk)

619,000 and that is only so far, this pandemic has a way to go yet.

One might surmise that ‘admitted to hospital’ would qualify as seriously ill so reduce that figure by 75% and you have 464,000 people who may have been kept out of hospital had they been vaccinated.

464,000!!! We’ve only got Circa 140,000 hospital beds (NHS) in the whole of the UK, hence the significance of the strain put on their services, not to mention the financial implications (the cost will run into £Billions) and impact that all has on other patient illnesses and treatments.

How you could trivialise potentially 464,000 avoidable hospitalisations (more than three times the NHS national capacity) as ‘tiny’ or ignore the basic fact that 90% of current COVID patients in ICU are unvaccinated, is quite honestly just astounding.

As someone who is unvaccinated (pure blood), currently have omicron & not clogging up a hospital bed I think I will pop down to my local hospital & make a nuisance of myself so at least this way I'll fit the narrative the Branch Covidians are painting on here*

*this is a joke you humourless weirdos... well the going to hospital bit.

May be heresay as they did not contact me, but I have heard track and trace are trying to apply more severe covid regulations than those currently published by BoJo.

Lockdown by stealth perhaps.

So xi'an in China, a city with 13 million people; is now in lockdown, in place indefinitely. Because they had 52 new cases on Wednesday.
One person from each household can go out once every two days for essentials.
And we are feeling hard done by !!!

Where is this on the link you provided?
As of right now we have 643,000 positive cases of covid 19 in the last 7 days & 6147 people admitted to hospital also in the last 7 days that means we still have 134,000 hospital beds.

Edit: Ah I think your'e referring to since the beginning of the pandemic?

Those who would block you would not be censoring you from everyone else. So your claim of being 'cancelled' is as disingenuous as just about every other point you make.

Surely you understand that most people who aren't vaccinated are well aware of the small increase in risk?

Surely you understand that that most people in hospital with covid wouldn't need to be there if they were vaccinated?

Of course, you do. You just don't care that they are taking up resources they don't need to. So are smokers I hear you say! Ah, but treating smokers with lung cancer is factored in to NHS routine work. It is planned for. Reducing smoking is a long term project. Not an emergency one.

A pandemic places sudden additional demands on health services. When a simple, safe way of protecting people both from excessive infection and illness at no cost to them, only the stupid or the selfish refuse.

Not commented on this thread yet, but I know a few frontline doctors so am influenced by them…

Currently the hospitals are packed with people who are unvaccinated. Vaccinated people are generally ok with the rare case of those with underlying conditions being ill. The knock on is that hospitals can’t cope which is why social restrictions are being implemented. I believe it’s everyone’s moral duty to get vaccinated so we can we return to normal.

This is perhaps a bit strong, but those refusing, in my opinion, fall into one of three categories; those who believe conspiracy theories which make them either mental or thick. Those who are social recluses and enjoy the way we now live. Or those who are plain selfish and/or stubborn and not willing to do their bit for society.

I know a bloke who doesn’t even believe covid exists and is massive anti vax. He also thinks the world is flat and that US Pesidents eat babies. He falls under the mental or thick category. Thankfully he is only one of two anti vaxxers I know.

I’ve heard a couple of stories in the last week of friends of friends who have been anti vax and are now on their death beds (probably dead by now). I’ve no sympathy for them, clogging up hospital space.

Rant over.

Keep posting. You are needed.

If that stat is right then that's over the course of the pandemic, half of which didn't have any vaccines available and thus would have accounted for the bulk of hospitalisations and been unavoidable.

Then of course you have administering the vaccine itself, which takes months

So right there the platform of statistics you have convinced yourself on just isn't accurate.

You give this 90 percent figure for unvaccinated....I'd like to see the actual evidence for that....though I don't doubt that it'll be more than vaccinated. However, I doubt you were banning people from smoking or eating burgers so people's personal health decisions about what goes into their bodies is for them.

You or I might have opinions on what's best for others and you have a right to voice them but really that's as far as it goes.
