The Mail article is just made up by a bored journalist, no substance at all. Zaha will see out his contract and sign an extension, nobody is going to pay him, what Parish does.
Wanting to sell one of our best players with the ability to change games is strange.
Eze will never be as influential or as good as Zaha has been.

Brave call. You may be right. You may be wrong. Time will tell. More to the point though, the key part of your sentence is highlighted in red.

Nearly 30 now and will be almost 31 by the time his contract expires. According to Google he's on around £130k a week with us, I really don't see where he gets that money elsewhere at this stage. Newcastle maybe.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Also, I should add, I think his best position now may be as a striker. Without the pace and inclination to take people on or get to the byline, he's not much of a winger. But he does have a good shot on him and an eye for goal...plus quick feet to carve space for himself to get a shot away. Would love to see him up top alongside Benteke, running onto the flick ons etc.

Don’t forget when his contract expires he can leave on a free. So even at 31 £100k/week with a £3m signing on fee is a bargain and more than he is currently on.

Wilf has just said he is trying not to dribble anymore. Madness.

My thoughts too, Sprites. He did a decent job as striker early doors last season.

If Zaha isn't a winger anymore and is now thought by some as a centre forward, where does that leave Mateta, Eduoard, Ayew, and Benteke?

Eduoard and Ayew seem better suited playing out wide. I think Trekkers will go in the summer. Mateta needs time to mature, which I believe he will.

On the bench, at other clubs etc.

Have to say, whilst I still love each of them, purely just for being our players, none have set the world alight the past two seasons and could hardly be considered as shoo in's in that position.

I think there's more to come from Edouard, I hope at least, would like at least one target man and I've not viewed Ayew as a 'striker' for some time now.

My old man has, for a number of seasons, cried out for Wilf to play more centrally to be a direct threat on goal. Have to admit, I was never fully on board but am starting to come round a bit more to the idea so it's interesting to see others espousing this desire.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Zaha can be used as a striker in a 442, but in Vieira's preferred 433 I think he could only be used in the central role on occasion as opposed to as a long term solution..
Zaha is not a back to goal player, a linkman or hold up player.
Nor is he strong in the air.
The negatives to the team in such a selection would outweigh the positives.

Very odd comment, trying to do less of the thing you are good at?! But not a surprise seeing him play, and desire to be more direct.

I suspect this stems from an agent saying telling him that the way to get bought by the big boys is to get his individual stats us. e.g. now taking pens

Its such a massive shame as I don't think he is a better player now.

Watching Saint-Maximin reminds me of the Zaha of old
