Great post

According to his profile, W12 is in Russia.

With the Russian national anthem on repeat in the house it’s probably understandable.

Footage circulating this morning shows a corridor for civilians to leave the city of Irpin near Kyiv coming under fire from Russian troops (NSFW).

A family, packing up their life, and pet dog, trying to get to safety on a agreed safety corridor. No such luck.

Same location after attack:

---

These from yesterday. There are tens of videos like these every day, and also of what are clearly shelled and destroyed civilian areas. Posted just in case anyone again attempts to claim otherwise.

Russian police start mass-arrests against peaceful people who have gathered for an anti-war protest in Moscow. -

Same cast they used for 'Green Street' apparently. They've all been taught to act now though.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Media campaigns, particularly during conflict, have been prone to leverage.
The UK very nearly lost the Falklands war, but this was largely over-looked by a jingoistic media at the time.
Hillsborough drunken fans cause deaths. An untruth that lasted decades.
Danial Morgan murder.

Politicians have also manipulated language. 'Insurgents', 'collateral damage', 'friendly fire', are part of a continuing development of warfare language.

The thing that has changed in recent conflicts, is the ability of ordinary citizens to circulate images/film/accounts on the internet.

Whilst most accounts can be subject to biased inaccuracies, the volume of the corroborating information would appear to give some validation.

Like I said before, you are the hatchling.

You wake up every day like you are entirely new to the world. Most people are like you which is depressing.

(I’m not saying you are bad by the way)

What in his post do you disagree with?

If you want cutting edge coverage look to Yorkshire cutting edge journalism for a splash.

This constant media criticism is a ploy by Putin apologists to take attention away from what is obviously happening in the Ukraine.

Next they will be posting about Green Alien Lizards in democratic
skins and taking red pills (note the colour if you want a conspiracy).

In the UK, prior to WW2 there were some noisy nationalists but those that they thought was their audience soon realised their error in late '39.

Hang on you don't have to be a Putin apologist to recognise that the media has gone full propaganda partisan.

That said Putin does make it very easy for the western media to take sides.

There is no justification for Putin's actions whatsoever.

You wonder how far this will go.

Putin won't stop of his own accord. He will keep the Russian military going (however long it takes) to secure Ukraine. If it stalls, we may see increasingly destructive weaponry used, perhaps some of it banned from warfare use.

Sanctions will impact Russia, but likewise Russia has a strong hold on world reserves of oil and gas and a big contribution to world arable farming produce.

Citizens all around Europe are going to feel the financial pressure on the cost of living, probably for many years.

NATO will no doubt have formulated plans to deal with most foreseeable scenarios, such as rising inflation, increasing military aid, and ultimately war with Russia.

There's going to be no 'winners' in this one.

On a slightly lighter note, I do feel a tad sorry for Her Maj' this year. Her Jublee year. Brexit and Covid impacts still being felt, Prince Andrew folds in the game of 'Name-a-Nonce', and now conflict in Europe means almost zero chance of a military trooping and public celebrations.
I did buy a Jublee mug, and I think it was made in China. At least they seem to be doing well out of things
