So reflecting on what was our worst performance of the season so far (some may say that came against Newcastle but I'm taking the quality of the opposition into account), what positives can I scrape up.
1) Our fans were great despite the fact the team rarely gave us reason to sing.
2) We didn't lose
3) When he came on, Jairo was the one player who tried to get things moving. Of course, not having played for a while he was a bit rusty positioning wise but he got back well to rectify that.

The negatives are too many to list but a couple of obvious ones.
1) it seemed most of our team were wearing concrete boots.
2) If Wilf wasn't Wilf he would have been substituted well before the 76th minute - he was poor.

One final thing. Chatting to a couple of Leicester fans on the way back to the station, I said how this was our worst performance of the season. Their retort was that their team's was one of their best. So, some perspective, guys, we didn't lose despite barely turning up.

I think the only positive I took from the game was that as it was over by 2.30pm I had the rest of the afternoon to do other stuff.

***Ward***Andersen**Guehi***
Hughes*Doucoure*Luka*Schlupp

You clearly did not watch the game.

You are quiet correct, 77 minutes of Zaha yesterday, produced 2 shots, 0 on target, I worthwhile pass and zero tackles on an opponent hadly a potential match winner!

Vieira's post match comments were illustrative.
He was unhappy with our play in the final third, our failure to pass the ball forward and our failure not to push players forward.
Is it a case that the players are not good enough or capable of following his instructions?
Or should he show more tactical flexibility to suit the talents of the available players?
We don't e.g have a Gallagher to press high or break in to the box.
He also said the substitution of Mitchell was not due to injury and that Jairo's forward passing offered another option.
He also hinted that Jairo didn't have tactical discipline which is perhaps why more isn't seen of him.

And there’s me thinking it’s because he’s useless

As others have said. We are expecting a 22 year old in his first season in the Premier league to be our 'midfield general'. Both Eze and schlupp go missing far too often. Never thought id saY this, but I think Luka would be the perfect partner for him...at the expense of schlupp.

had we been losing for 85 minutes and then equalised, we would all be jumping up and down like its Christmas.

respect the away-point.

Having watched the MoTD analysis I don't think that is the worst suggestion in the world and in fact may be a worthwhile consideration.

I still maintain Doucoure is very much a 'central midfielder', Eze/Olise attacking midfield players and Schlupp none of these things.

On MoTD they showed how at some points all three of our midfielders were too far forward and Leicester, with often a single pass, were able to have the free run of the park having gone past our entire midfield who were too far up the pitch.

I still think a staggered midfield would suit us best as thinga currently stand. We need somebody slightly further forward (Eze or other), Doucoure in between and somebody holding from the back and sitting deeper when we do go forward - Luka may well be the best suited to fill that role.

It needed looking at in the summer, just about everybody knew that bar the club and will certainly need bolstering in January but for now, for me, it's about having a system and playing those best suited to the positions within it. Our teams of late seem to lean more towards the individual players over the system.

Just for fun a la Lanzo:

Guaita

Ward/Clyne----Andersen----Guehi----Mitchell

---Luka
------Doucoure
---Eze

Olise---------JPM/Eddy----------Zaha

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I'm sorry but presumably the people calling for Luka have watched him play? Another holding midfielder, yes, Luka no. That simple really. Shame, but he can't run and can't pass, plus gives away frees in silly areas, which we're not that good at defending. If anything bring on Hughes (also not great), or bring on Phillips.
