One valuable lesson from this ongoing war will be an insight into which tail is wagging which dog...and more importantly to what extent...between Israel and the US. The US are paying a huge price batting for them....Probably a generational one, that they might not recover from in terms of soft power. Obviously for reasons I don't wish to waffle on about Israel has considerable outsized interests in the US. However as Israel grows increasingly right wing (something that will only increase when looking at their 'settler' birth demographics) and the versions in the US being increasingly progressive a real schism of visions is there. It has both the bought and sold Anglo Rinos and Democrats in a bit of a bind on just how far they go with what they say....and the Biden himself....who will just read whatever is put in front of him. Money rules the world, principles are seemingly for the script writers. Unfortunately we are rather missing Shakespeare.

There have been opportunities since to allow the many moderates on both sides to find a workable compromise that allows for mutual cooperation and shared prosperity. Unfortunately it’s the extremists on both sides who hold power and that is primarily the fault of Israel and those who back her. I know there are moderates on both sides. I have seen them working together in a friendly way. There are many secular Israelis who do not approve of Netanyahu and although I haven’t been to Gaza I have been to the West Bank where most people just want to live in peace.

To still be trying to claim some moral high ground on behalf of the Israeli’s is laughable. You speak as if the desire to destroy and kill is on one side only, which is so demonstrably untrue it’s impossible to take seriously.

Presumably you have seen videos of 'settlers' shooting people in the West Bank without justification, including children. And the Police and armed forces are complicit. There are evil people on each side and in the middle a lot of children.
