Palace v Millwall

Selhurst Park, Saturday 3.00pm

Andy Johnson

Andy Johnson

Team news

Johnson has not started for 13 games after getting a knee injury in Palace's defeat at Reading.

But he came off the bench at Luton last Saturday and played 45 minutes in Wednesday's Carling Cup tie at Middlesborough.

Manager Iain Dowie must decided whether to pick Clinton Morrison or Dougie Freedman alongside him in attack.

Mikele Leigertwood returned from injury at Boro and could land a place in the first eleven.

Loan defenders Zak Whitbread and Ady Williams are set to return for Millwall after being cup-tied in midweek, along with ex-Palace frontman Bruce Dyer.

Striker Barry Hayles serves a one-match ban, while loan defender Phil Ifill and Palace fan striker Carl Asaba are doubtful. Another ex-Palace player, Jamie Vincent, should feature at left-back.

One to watch

Bruce Dyer

Millwall's top scorer

Barry Hayles - 4 goals

Millwall's bad boy

Jody Morris - 5 2

Palace old boys

Jamie Vincent, Bruce Dyer

Dyer is one to watch as the ex-Palace factor could play a major part (but we’ll be fine, he’ll probably be offside most of the time).

On-loan keeper Lenny Pidgeley could provide a reasonably stern rearguard for the Bermondsey pussycats, the Chelsea keeper has been snapped up on a week long emergency loan due to Millwall’s severe shortage of playing staff.

Really can’t say anything nice about Millwall, so I’ll sign off…….so sit back and watch Millwall run from the Palace :-D
