Team news

The Eagles will be without Ben Watson (hernia), Carl Fletcher and TOM SOARES (both ankle).

Transfer deadline day signing Stuart Green could make his first start to replace SOARES in right midfield.

Taylor could recall Danny Butterfield, Darren Ward and Danny Granville after the awful midweek defeat at home to Southampton.

Norwich have left-back Patrick Boyle available after signing on a month's loan from Everton. Midfield pair Lee Croft and Carl Robinson will have late fitness tests.

Tuesday night brought Southampton to Selhurt Park. Is it worth me even going into any details of the game? We were rubbish, useless, couldn't pass, couldn't tackle, couldn't shoot and couldn't move.

I thought we had a pretty poor game at Luton last Saturday and that the players would be up for Tuesday night. Were they? If that's there idea of being up for it then they need a decent supply of viagra.

Three players managed to come away from the game with credit. Tom Soares, who only managed to play the first half, showed the drive and determination that is needed in midfield. However, he was again played out of position and offered little protection to the ineffective Lawrence, filling in for Butterfield at right back. Soares managed to cover loads of ground, put in tackles and put in two almost inch perfect through balls for Shefki Kuqi. Both came to nothing.

Gary Borrowdale, last season's scapegoat, handled Dyer very well at left back. He looks an improvement on Granville at the moment he is clearly not ready to be playing first team football.

James Scowcroft - what more needs to be said. A hardworking player will always get some respect from the fans even if it doesn't always come off for him. He hit the woodwork with a lovely snapshot and chased the ball all night.

Again, the defence had little protection from midfield and Kiraly, the last defender, gave very little support to the static line in front of him.

This week we're away at Carrow Road. They have pace in abundance in one player alone - Robert Earnshaw.

They've also taken advantage of the loan window and brought in Patrick Boyle from Everton.

We've not won up at Carrow road for 6 years, with our most recent results as 1-1 draws. It's going to be a tough game, one that I'm not expecting to get anything out of.

Norwich have scored 13 goals in 7 games. Unfortunately for them, they've also conceded 10 in 7 - the same as us. The Canaries' leaky defence is nothing to be surprised about. Under Worthington, Norwich have been conceding goals left right and centre, but they have the firepower to outscore their opponents.

Robert Earnshaw is this weeks one to watch. He was once touted as our replacement for AJ - a quick, nippy little poacher who can get in behind defences and score you goals.

The Zambian born Welshman has netted 6 times in 7 appearances. However, his preferred partner, Darren Diving Huckerby, is out injured; as is target man Peter Thorne. It's also a possibility that left winger Lee Croft will be out of the game.

It's going to be a tough game but it's always a good ground to visit. There's a nice pub that does decent food just up the road or you could opt for one of Delia's famous pies from inside the ground.

Let's get behind the boys - win, lose or draw. Let's just hope that changes are made to give us a chance of getting a draw, or even better - a win.
