Palace v Leicester City

Selhurst Park, Saturday 3.00pm

Ben Watson

Story so far

Leicester have had a pretty average season [even by our standards] and find themselves in mid-table as the season draws to an end.

Serbian business tycoon, Milan Mandaric, took over the helm last month and hopes to see them achieve the success that he brought to Portsmouth.

They've found themselves in good form of late and are unbeaten in six games - since the takeover was completed.

Team news

Ben Watson has fully recovered from his thigh injury and is likely to partner Carl Fletcher in the centre of midfield.

Michael Hughes and Gary Borrowdale are also in contention for starts.

Shefki Kuqi hasn't responded well from treatment on his knee injury and is out. Fellow frontman Clinton Morrison hopes to start after having back trouble this week.

Paul Ifill (Achilles), Jobi McAnuff (hamstring), Mark Kennedy (hamstring) and Stuart Green (shoulder) are major doubts.

Leicester's Danny Tiatto back could return after a hamstring problem, while Patrick Kisnorbo (groin) and Alan Maybury (ankle) are likely to be fit.

Nisse Johansson is back from suspension but Matty Fryatt is still missing with a foot injury.

Quotes

Peter Taylor: "I'm pleased with our run as well, two defeats in 13 matches and I want keep that going and get over the 50 point mark on Saturday and keep creeping up the table if we can.

"All of a sudden, there is somebody above us who is catchable, so that's our next target.

"I know it's 13 points now and it's a big ask, but I want to win on Saturday and then look at the situation from there.

"I know we've got a bit to do but I'm delighted with the run that we're in and we've got to keep winning, particularly the home matches."

One to watch

Iain Hume

Leicester City's top scorer

Iain Hume - 11 goals

Leicester City's bad boy

Patrick McCarthy - 8 1

Leicester picked Hume up for £500k at the beginning of last term, and he hasn't had a bad season - goalscoring wise.

He can be likened to Andy Johnson [the good one] as he has lightning pace, was originally played on the wing and gets kicked to pieces. So far this term he has notched up a goal every three games; and managed to get himself on the score sheet twice in last week's draw with Southend.

Hume can score fantastic goals as well as simple tap-ins and has the ability to move up a level should he learn to remain in the game for long periods - he drifts in and out.

Our defence may struggle with his pace, especially at right back where we can get crucified at the moment with the ineptitude of Butterfield.
