Ok, that may have been when Claudio was still in charge, but since... They play Champions League tonight (2 days later than our game) and then they have the return leg on Tuesday. As long as they are still in the tie they can't help but have half their mind on the second leg. Would their manager consider resting players? I'm not saying it's a banker, I just think with all the tough fixtures we have left we've got a little lucky with this schedule. Let's pray that they don't get a thumping tonight
Now here's Wright, his first chance to see what he can do, and he's through, it's Wright, ohhhh what an impact by the substitute. And it's Ian Wright who's sent the Palace fans into ecstasy! |

Steady. It was only two homes games ago we had zero shots on target v Middlesborough. Just have to focus on putting in a shift no matter who they start with and the points will then flow.

I prefer not to rely on other teams to gift us points for whatever reason. I said in an earlier thread on this subject that, when there is talk of a team being more easily beatable for whatever (albeit seemingly good) reason, it generally results in our having our arse handed to us. I'm sure Sam will be approaching this one in the way he would any other game, irrespective of what the opposition are up to.

Agree with you both. Focus shouldn't change. But there's always some external factors influencing a game (Monday: Wenger's uncertainty, Arsenal not arriving until 45 mins before game) and I'm just hoping that this one gives us an extra couple % of chance. But the internal factors - Wilf doing Wilf things, Benteke being a beast, Townsend basically running a marathon in 90 minutes - that really matter.

Totally agree with your conclusion, Kerms-ey, although the nil shots on target was v Watford. I think you are letting the excitement get the better of you. 😉

If you read their forum there is a general expectation that they will lose this game. They think they will be unprepared, tired from the game today and probably understrength. There is also a degree of fear in how dominant we have been in recent games. It's good to read. My Spurs supporting mate, whilst still convinced they will beat us, is sufficiently concerned to now be finding ways they will need to adjust their tactics. People are taking the progress seriously.

Time will tell I guess. I remember Sam saying it's hard to follow up a big result in the following match. Like Chelsea and a tired below performance ends in a defeat at Southampton. I'd be more than happy with a draw against Leicester. It's just goes to show how lucky we've been with Benteke not getting injured as remy and Campbell have been injured most of the season.

Lost them both. Bobby Moore and Alan Mullery (for Fulham) p*ssed all over our star team.

Sam is the master of exploiting weaknesses, Arsenal have several...Leicester dont... My gut tells me we will walk away with at least a point but I genuinly think it will be a really hard game. They look fired up, score a lot of goals and dont have anything blatently wrong with them. Plus if we think we should win, we 100% wont. We are Palace and we are not very good at doing whats expected of us!!! :-)

If we stay up next season if we do get a loanee striker in they must not have an injury record and Campbell needs a huge upgrade.
