It's my view (and I have no evidence to back it up) that Roy doesn't want a full year but he's not averse to stepping in on a temporary basis if needed.

I thought most clubs pencilled in the first Monday in July as a potential start back to training date & then took into consideration other things, like injuries & world cup / competitions etc that meant certain players finished the season later than others or needed a longer break.

Bearing in mind that the club's first friendly is on Tuesday 11th July, the return date is unlikely to be any later than Monday 3rd.
