This article perfectly highlights how some people are more concerned with the 'far right' than the truth. We are in crisis. Our birth rates are falling. Our governments want to compensate by flooding the West with migrants. This will not succeed and can only lead to the extinction of Europeans. Here is the BBC trying really hard to avoid mentioning Britain and the obvious impending disaster.

Did we not have a free flowing European population to fill the gaps and then voted to stop it?

Brexit was mainly voted for to stop non European migration and Johnson betrayed us once it was won. As it is I think we all know where this is heading.

Our governments want to compensate by flooding the West with migrants. This will not succeed and can only lead to the extinction of Europeans. Here is the BBC trying really hard to avoid mentioning Britain and the obvious impending disaster. Firstly, the BBC don’t concentrate on Britain in the article because it isn’t about Britain. It’s about the bigger picture of worldwide trends and predictions in the most impacted countries. The idea that some places will see their populations halve by the end of the century will provoke a lot of debate. It’s a very interesting and useful analysis. It’s a pity your reaction is not. Yours is to repeat the same old mantra of “Europeans”, aka “white people”, being made extinct. There are some intriguing thoughts there. The idea that once every country’s population is declining that there will be competition for migrants would at least stop the small boat crisis! We will be sending aircraft to Ruanda to get people rather than removing them. With the probability of many more people in most countries having their racial roots in Africa the need to combat racism is highlighted. One thing above all others stands out. With the average age of the population going to increase dramatically, and the number of younger working age people outnumbered by the elderly, the concept of retirement is going to need revision. It seems to me that anticipating a period of non work at the end of your life, such as I am now enjoying, will become redundant. All those who can work will have to work until they no longer can. Society won’t function without them. Part time working, accepting the need to care for others and providing support services will become the duty of all, and not just those forced to do so by a lack of resources as now.

Well I suppose that the bigger picture is that taking people from one part of Europe to fill a gap in another seems rather self-defeating. A quick look at the current demographic of Britain suggests that work related migration from Europe hasn't done much to halt the increase in non Europeans. The only real solution is to encourage women to have more children by incentivising the family rather than self indulgence and the need to work more hours.

I had a quick glance didn't see any mention of new technologies? Politicians seem to think that the only solution is more migration I beg to differ. Stop paying people to do nothing we have record numbers of this. Encourage people to go into the sectors of the economy that are vital e.h. health and social care. Do this by removing the financial barriers e.g. student loans. Encourage business to invest more in technology. Over time we can manage downwards our population back to a more sustainable level. And if you really want to be controversial introduce tax breaks for married couples who have kids.

Strange isn’t it? I thought the idea of Brexit was to stop the free movement of people from within the EU to the UK. “European “ people. Not “non-European” people! The effect, of course, has been the exact reverse. Many EU citizens have left to be replaced by non-EU migrants. This will, inevitably, be a continuing trend. Unless of course we rejoin! How long before the Brexiteers start making the argument that we must rejoin to try to stop the inflow of “non-white” people?

Abortion, euthanasia, in-fertility and pressure on women to have long "careers" before thinking of having a family are the main causes in my opinion. All part of the hidden agenda to depopulate the earth in the name.of climate change. Some of the greatest civilisations fell due to declining birth rates. I seen somewhere some countries like Russia are giving tax exemptions and benefits to families who have more children.

We have a consumer society that encourages people to want more. We have an economy where two people have to work for a similar lifestyle that one earner could achieve in the past. Women have the birth pill. They don't want to grow up until they are 30+ years old. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (21 Mar 2024 10.27am)

The only real solution is to encourage women to have more children by incentivising the family rather than self indulgence and the need to work more hours. Easy to write. Almost certainly impossible to do. Too much has changed in the last 50 years for there to be any kind of practical way to incentivise women to increase the birth rate to replacement levels or above. You cannot force people. Not in a free society. New technologies will certainly help but there will always be jobs that demand the input of human care and compassion. So it’s not a “real” solution at all. It’s an impractical knee jerk response that looks backwards and not forwards.

Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (21 Mar 2024 10.27am) I would sa a bit of both to be honest. Yes thats true. by the time women decide then want to have babies into thier 30s they find out they cant have them.
The country is not set up for those who want to do it properly.
