I fail to understand why, after more than 2 years of Covid experience, people still think wearing masks, respecting social distancing and even having lockdowns is only to ensure you, and others, don't catch Covid. It just isn't. It's primarily to ensure the NHS doesn't get overwhelmed by trying to flatten out curves. From all I hear the NHS is fast approaching a real crisis point, yet what I read here are the same old, "it's my body, my choice" arguments. If we are asked to start being more cautious again, and restrictions are imposed, then it will only be for that reason. We will all catch variants, which most of us won't suffer from too much. It's when we catch them which matters. I'm all for supporting those at risk - there should be real help and legislation for them (which won't happen). However, those who can, really need to get on with their lives. Don't think many businesses, and a lot of people, can handle more lockdowns.

40% increase in death amongst working age people according to US insurance companies. But the news headlines are about some gay MP copping a feel and a boy in a dress.

If the vacine is proven dangerous- i"m looking forward to bungle and his cabinet telling us they didn"t encourage people taking it, but were merely suggesting if you realy realy wanted to take it they wouldn"t stop you, but it"s at your own risk!

Dr John Campbell on non covid excess deaths. Personally I think reduced access to healthcare and delayed diagnosis will be behind a lot of it. Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Jul 2022 7.58am)

Of course the anti-vaxxers immediately think it must be the vaccines causing this (inaccurate) claim, instead of the obvious reason, that it's Covid itself and its impact on health service provisions that has. There is zero evidence that these vaccines cause any harm, other than in the very rare cases of bad reactions, which exist with every vaccine. There is heaps of evidence that they prevent serious illness and have allowed normal life to resume. The anti-vaxxers are an embarrassment to decent society. An ignorant group of easily led people being used by malign interests and those who seek to monetise their stupidity.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |
