According to the Beeb, the police sent their report to the CPS in November - so not sure how the process works, but that doesn't sound overly long?

To use, yet another, Liverpool footballer as an example of why it does. Jon Flanaghan was arrested on Dec 22nd, was in court by Jan 2nd and will be sentenced tomorrow, even though he's already been told he won't be jailed. And he wasn't defending himself/fighting some blokes after being hit with a bottle, he was punching and kicking his girlfriend!

We've now also won the second ODI in Australia even easier than the first but to be honest - who cares? We lost the Ashes and that's all that matters and all that will be remembered in the future.
