If those purchasing a licence continues to decline then I can see it being merged with the broadband contracts most of us have, with the licence remaining available for those without. The bbc ARE reliant on advertising tho, for those of us who live outside of the UK, the bbc world news constantly advertises in between its boring woke segments all day, everyday. Over my head obviously. I think him playing it as a parody of the typical Irish matriarch is part of the humour but there is a lot more. The interwoven family relationships are well observed. If you were able to watch the episode when grandad wants to attend his own funeral and Father Quinn thinks he has raised him from the dead without raising a smile then there’s something wrong with you. It’s hilarious.

I was given tickets once as a “treat” but disliked the whole experience, from the attitude of the other theatre goers to the incomprehensible story. I walked out at the interval and went to a pub.
