I'd be interested to see if Allardyce would revive Luka. I suspect he would. To my eye, it almost looks some times like Luka's legs have gone. His ability to lose the ball only for his legs to almost 'give way' under him has caught my eye a few times this season. Maybe he just needs better conditioning. An Allardyce would test that theory.

According to The Athletic, Luka's is away on compassionate grounds. Does anyone know whether this is indeed the case and what the issue is?

Playing Royball with a deep block and very little possession may have taken its toll. Perhaps some players as well as the fans got fed up with some of the football last season.
