Hocking the club on the QT to a hedge fund would probably start the ball rolling. Doing the whole media 'I've bought back Selhurst' when he'd done no such thing would be another minus.

Dunno if the above warrant a description of being 'screwed' by the man, but then Del Trotter never really 'screwed' anyone. Just took 'em for a bit of a ride, I suppose.

I loved his stance on agents but it came back to haunt him in the end. If he hadn't pulled the plug on the Cahill deal we would have definitely stayed up.

Goldberg fcuked up, yet everyone knew he had no idea what he was doing, he got bent over double by venables and taken to the cleaners.

Jordan always gave the impression that he knew what was what,wouldn't take any sh1te and certainly wouldnt get rolled over like Goldberg. Who knows what actually happened there, I think he just got pulled apart by slightly smarter, bigger boys in the end.

The sad thing is, watching him on TV now, is that he seems so so bitter, won't refer to Parrish and co by their names and as others have said, everything bad that happened throughout his tenure was someone elses fault.

Ron Noades seemed to know exactly what he was doing with Goldberg, and Goldberg let his optimism run ahead of his reality - a fatal flaw in any business man is to take over a business without the certainity of being able to afford to run it.

Goldberg did far more damage that Jordon, and that damage ultimately would go on to damage Jordon's reign - seperating the ground and club was damaging.

Ultimately without Jordon, we might very well have not made it out of Goldberg administration.

No mistaking the man is a t*** of epic proportions but he was our t***, and he put his money where his mouth was, and when it came down to it, wrote a shed load of that off. Yeah he went to a hedge fund and got us into trouble, but how long could he feasibly have been expected to keep funding us out of his personal fortune. By the time he went to the hedgefund, his portfolio had been striken by the credit crunch and his worth massively reduced, his capacity to borrow limited.

Its unfair to expect the man to bankrupt himself on our behalf.

I don’t think any, or many, of us expected SJ to bankrupt himself for Palace but he seems to have got there, or pretty close to it, all by himself.

He paid too much for the club from the administrators when it didn’t own the ground, a better businessman would have held out until there was a deal that included the ground. He loaned Palace money that Palace would never be able to repay and spent Palace’s money far too freely. Each chapter of his book tells of the incompetence of the people around him but glosses over his own shortcomings. Ok, it’s an autobiography so this could be expected to a certain extent but it would have been nicer to have a more balanced view of his time in charge.
