Sorry but i'm not wrong - Muslims are behind most of the worlds conflicts.

Quite apart from this not being true, insurgents are behind almost all World Conflicts, some of whom happen to be Muslim. I suppose you think in 1939 that Christians were behind the Second World War?

I thought Hitler was an atheist Syd

Remember, also, that the hospital staff have a duty of care to EVERYONE in the waiting room, soldiers, Muslims, and innocent bystanders alike. If they believed that trouble may result from two people in fifty on account of one of them wearing a uniform and another reacting badly to it then acting in a way they believe will defuse that trouble and protect the other 48 is a responsible thing to do. The nurse did not behave badly; at very worst she exercised questionable judgment. It seems to me that once again the Mail has published a benign story in an emotive way to stir up its right wing readership. In reality, there isn't a story here at all.

Now who's being emotive...... the link I posted was a story from The Guardian!

So if the left wing voice of the people thinks it is a story.... it's a story.

Many of you will wake up to threat of the enemy within when it's too late to do anything about it, hopefully I'll be long gone before then... so enjoy your Sharia Law.

Quote Percy of Peckham at 26 Sep 2015 7.29pm

The incident has nothing to do with offending cultures or "civilians" ...some idiotic manager at the hospital should be reassigned to clean the lavatories. It's the most appropriate job for their level of experience and intellect.

Being quite serious, what would you do? You're a nurse. Two weeks ago, there's a fight in the waiting room because someone was offended by a uniform. Today, another uniform comes in to a packed waiting room. Surely you could be forgiven, as you're rushed to do your job (which we all know nurses are) for quickly thinking "just to be safe, I'll politely ask this chap to sit next door. We don't want trouble and it might be best for everyone." There's no malice, inexperience, lack of intellect or anything else there; just someone trying to do her job to the best of her ability. OK, she may (or may not) have made the best decision in the world but there's nothing you can really criticise about it. At worst, she made an honest mistake that could be addressed by a quiet word. Possibly, she did the right thing. If this is the NHS' most serious error then we're all much better off than we thought. Why are so many people determined to make a story where there isn't one?

The real offence in your scenario above occurred two weeks ago.

Instead of noting the incident for future reference, the nurse should have called the police and got the troublemaker arrested, then deported.

But no, in your crazy world it's acceptable to let someone abuse our armed forces being treated in an English hospital wearing his uniform and it's better dealt with by hiding the soldier!

I suppose that when you went to school all the little children weren't allowed out into the playground so that the bullies couldn't get to them?

I was reading yesterday about how half of all sea life - and wild life in total as it happens - has been wiped out in the last 40 years. I'm sure we'll have pretty much f***ed up every aspect of our entire planet before fears of 'Sharia law being law for all in the UK!' start to become anything like reality. Nature will provide us with a little perspective.

Do we know she didn't do that? Do we even know the troublemaker two weeks ago was Muslim and not a white, English thug? To the best of my knowledge all that's been reported is that there was an incident two weeks ago. Nothing about the perpetrator or nature of the incident has been published. So how has this thread suddenly lurched into an attack on Muslims? Why are you making claims that you cannot come close to substantiating?

I don't think any of us are unaware of the enemy within, no matter whether we're on the left or on the right. The issue is that we would deal with the problem differently. The argument isn't about acknowledging we have a serious problem; it's about which are the most effective steps to take against it. Only an idiot would be blind to what's happening and need to be woken up.

There used to be army hospitals such as Woolwich but budget cuts over the years mean that injured servicemen get no different treatment to anybody else. Servicemen should be getting the best treatment there is and they are not. That is the real disgrace and crux of this whole matter.
