What was he doing in Burma?

Risking his life so you could be conceived in many years to come and spout your hatred masked as tolerance, completely oblivious to the struggles of his generation and ungrateful for his sacrifice.

Seems a bit of a waste of time when put like that, but there you go. Some of us get it.

That’s a very noble attitude. Maybe the things he saw and experienced, and probably did, in the army hardened his opinion. So are you saying events in the past have no bearing on how people regard each other today?

My old headmaster was a guest of the Japanese during the war. We had a visit to our school of (young) Japanese teachers. As always he was unfailingly polite and a model of curtsey towards them.

I admired him for that I am not sure I could have been that noble but he set a terrific example to us kids. I doubt anyone would have blamed him if he had taken a sick day.

Ah yes, they need us more. Only the gullible would atill believe this even after the 29 March deadline when the EU has maintained its position from the beginning. They said the German Car industry would lobby the EU, they didn't, they have all held firm. So they don't need us more.

If you ask me, if we leave with no deal it will make negotiating a trade deal much harder and put us in a very weak position so we have far more to lose.

Or perhaps you have some actual evidence that shows they need us more?

You are clueless imo

Excuse me sport, who said we do'nt like you 'pommy b******s?'
We just do'nt like your cricket team, your rugby union team, your rugby league team and any other of your bloody teams that play us. Its called sports rivalry. 'quote=Teddy Eagle;3428206]

No. I’m saying that human beings tend to notice differences and react accordingly. A lot of Australians, for example, don’t like British people. Racism?

You must have a tremendous sporting rivalry with Greece then.

How do they need us more then? Do explain, from your own learned opinion not what Ree7mogg tells you

Yes that is a very forgiving attitude. I’m not saying the old man hated them or spent his time trying to do them down he just didn’t like them. He also spoke highly of India having spent many years there so maybe he was a selective racist.
The point I’m trying to make is that constantly looking for racism everywhere devalues the concept.

Since the majority of Australians and New Zealanders are British by descent, then obviously no.
When people are a different colour, it is easy to claim racism for any objection to their behaviour.
