No. I’m saying that human beings tend to notice differences and react accordingly. A lot of Australians, for example, don’t like British people. Racism?

Nope.

I reported a fact which is that it was by a massive percentage middle aged or old white people there.

I have no issues with you mentioning it of course or judging them however I'm skeptical that this is consistent from a certain political demographic.

If you aren't judging them why does their age or skin colour important? You could have just said, British or English people.

Racism is such a catch all term. My dad didn’t like Japanese people. Was he a racist or did his experience of lots of them trying to kill him in Burma make that a rational reaction?

That is the dictionary definition of racism.

You cannot judge all Japanese people based on what some Japanese people did during a war.

It is peace time now, and a 20 year old Japanese guy doesn’t deserve to be discriminated against by your old man simply because of what country he is from.

People of an older generation find it very difficult to understand that fact, but it is up to people who know better to act accordingly.

Judging people and treating then differently from other people, just because of where they were born, is wrong.

Please understand that I know a large amount of people voted for brexit with, what they thought at the time (and perhaps still do) were logical reasons.

Please also understand that many small minded bigots voted for brexit because they plainly and simply don’t like foreigners.

The leave campaign and certain papers stoked up that anti foreigner sentiment as you well know.

I have lived in many countries all over the world and luckily haven’t seen much xenophobia directed towards me, aside from a Scottish bloke I met in Sydney but that was in jest, and to be fair braveheart has just come out.

The point here was a very simple one. A million people of all shapes and sizes marched to remain. On the leave side it was by far a smaller demographic. Draw what conclusions you will from that, but it is a fact.

Zoals ik in eerdere berichten heb gezegd, heeft de EU ons (wanhopig) meer nodig dan we hen waarschijnlijk nodig hebben.

Ah yes, they need us more. Only the gullible would atill believe this even after the 29 March deadline when the EU has maintained its position from the beginning. They said the German Car industry would lobby the EU, they didn't, they have all held firm. So they don't need us more.

If you ask me, if we leave with no deal it will make negotiating a trade deal much harder and put us in a very weak position so we have far more to lose.

Or perhaps you have some actual evidence that shows they need us more?

He was on his gap year in 1943 so he decided to go backpacking in a war zone. What do you think he was doing?

That’s a very noble attitude. Maybe the things he saw and experienced, and probably did, in the army hardened his opinion. So are you saying events in the past have no bearing on how people regard each other today?

Pure ignorance.

What went on in those prisoner of war camps means that we'd all be justified in hating them all, forever, in the names of our fathers.

You need to read a book mate. If his old man didn't/doesn't like Japanese people because of his experiences perhaps you should try walking a mile in his shoes?

Personally, I'm thankful for his service and if he wants to dislike the Japanese, good luck to him he's earned it. He's not a racist, he's a man affected by the effect of war and distrustful of his one time foe.

Try having empathy for a change rather than judge people. Bloke is a war hero FFS.
