So it is, and really the UK should quietly drop it.

To think that is still an option says a lot for the EU.

Looking at our position with this 'deal' why would any country do anything so daft, and 'no deal' is a non-runner due to the chaos.

What is the matter with you?

It's never going away.

The way Europe has negotiated tells you all you need to know.
They want us in for their interests, not ours.

If it's no deal, then so be it.

I don't think they are now. It's membership is back to its near 'hey day' and increasing.

Yes because it shows freedom of movement works well for the EU, its benefits our economy by 4bn

As already mentioned in an earlier post, studies have shown that EU migrant contribution in terms of money put in and taken out is negligible.

So now you care about is GDP? As a Marxist, what about the impact on the government-run public services you adore so much?

How abut the poor and working class you care about so much about having to deal with lack of jobs and wage deflation?

You don't even realise that the people who go on the pro EU marches are actually lobbying for Goldman Sachs and all the large banks and corporations.

It's all why real socialists like Tony Benn and Jeremy Corbyn (up til he recently towed the Labour party line) objected to the EU.

The collective cost of immigration is highly negative economically.

Only EU immigration comes out at a small benefit......and an aspect of that is because less of them settle long term because more EU citizens go back to their home countries....not all but more.

Hardly anyone outside of non EU countries go back.

Perhaps that would have been the case if Nigel Farage was still leading the party but I don't see it happening any more

I've worked abroad myself and am actually pro immigration. Irrespective of EU migrants having a negligible benefit to the public purse, the UK government should decide its immigration policy – not a foreign parliament.

And if there is a net financial gain, if the money is not put in to extra schools, hospitals and houses, then that makes us WORSE off.

PLUS, EU migrants have caused wage deflation to low-skilled workers.
