Exactly, we are regressive as a society because of government policies I.e. Austerity but as long as you blame immigration they will get away with it

Perhaps we agree on somthing ! If I and many could see a tangible Benifit to mass immigration we wouldn't have not voted brexit but whilst my boys school is over subscribed and my town is changing through huge building work I won't ever be in favour of brexit which is mass immigration in my eyes. I don't want to hear about the financial Benifit when I don't see it and only big buisness does!!

Always gets me how people have to blame the people with the least in society , whether immigrants or people on job seekers allowance, and totally ignore the greedy politicians like 6 job osborne, yeah, ex politician, or the greed in the square mile! And that building company director who got a 75 million pound bonus a couple of weeks ago got it because he was worth it, yeah, ok, dream on , dream on!

No one is blaming the least in society!! Where did you get that from? It's the government who allowed millions of immigrant into the country. Perhaps that's what you don't understand and feel like many to shout racist.

But the actual key storyline is not about how much is being sent back, it's about how much it costs the migrant workers to wire transfer it and how much more they could actually be giving to their families if charges were around 3% rather than the current 7%..... or up to 20% in Nigeria.....

Much more BBC-like!

The way they've worded it is very sneaky, it makes you think it's up to 20% but it actually says:
Although the average commission is 7% - the UN says many charges can be much higher, with some costs for sending money to Africa rising about 20%.
So 20% on top of 7% makes it only 8.4%, but that's not as dramatic.

Optimistic as ever

Immigration has been very much part of govt policy (along with austerity etc) to regress our society (Europe has followed the same ridiculous path). It's a global stance to bleed dry the average bod, you're just too bloody minded to see it, go to your 'default' position, and label those who oppose your stance as racist because that's all you've got.

And all you'll ever have.

Some interesting points I read recently relevant to the possibility we end up leaving with no deal and default to WTO rules. This seems to one of the main counter arguments for a lot of Brexiteers when challenged about what alternative plan is in place to the current proposed deal.

Admittedly the WTO scenario is getting less likely by the day as it appears more certain we'll leave with some kind of EU 'deal' in place now, whether it's Mays plan or one hastily pasted together by parliament if the current one is rejected.

1 – On leaving the EU, the UK will have no trade deals with any other country in the world. That will make the UK the *only* country in the world with no trade deals with anyone else. None. Zero.

2 – Some brexiters know this, but say 'that's fine, we'll simply *revert* to WTO rules'. That's misleading and overlooks at least three facts: Firstly, the UK has never been a full independent member of the WTO, which formed in 1995. Its membership has ALWAYS been through its membership of the EU. Secondly, the UK membership has already been 'blocked' or at least objected to by Canada, the USA and Russia among others. Thirdly, brexiters seem to have this idea that the WTO is a much larger version of the EU. It's not, it's simply a legal framework for resolving disputes. What that means in practice is that ANY MEMBER STATE of the WTO can object to ANYTHING the UK wants to do and hold up membership for years. Typical length of time to resolve a dispute at the WTO? Seven years. Per dispute.

3 – So the UK will be a 'third party' at the WTO. That means that every other member of the WTO ***MUST*** charge full rate tariffs on all imports from the UK. The UK can happily reduce its tariffs to zero for the entire world, but that changes nothing. The rest of the world absolutely has to charge full tariffs. So why would you buy a good or service form the UK when you could get it 40% cheaper from literally anywhere else in the world?

Or... we accept a deal that is little better than that offered to a vanquished nation, right down to the payment of reparations to the victors. A deal that treats one part of the country differently to others, threatening the integrity of the Union itself. A deal that forbids us to conclude trade agreements unilaterally.

F*ck that. No deal is still more attractive than a deal that emasculates us as a nation.

Yeah. By the sounds of it that's not an option. So might as well get over it TBH.

Just like the remainers should be – get over losing the vote. No one was ever going to get to have their cake and eat it, that's what happens when you have a split vote amongst the electorate and the MPs that are supposed to implement it.

No we can have our cake as it's what we voted for. Referendums usually are a split vote, so it doesn't mean the winners should not get what they voted for.

Remainers will have got what they wanted, to continue to be (even bigger) slaves to the EU.

The Tories could potentially then be wiped out for a generation over their betrayal.

I think you missed the point a little. It's simply not possible to get a brexiteers brexit. There's no leave majority in the house. Every 'hardline' brexiteer suggestion will always be challenged, questioned and watered down. See American politics post mid-terms. Democrats are now able to challenge, obstruct and in some cases reverse legislation. It's how democracy works. Often annoying if you're on the wrong side of it, granted.

It's simple really. If there is no majority, you won't ever have the full fat version. Nothing you can do about it. Stalemate. More or less. I'm amazed it got this far.

Life is too short to fanatically stress about things that can't happen. By all means vent about it, but don't do so with the angle that 'it should have happened this way', because it was an impossibility to begin with.

Also there was no definition to what Brexit meant in the vote, so I'm not sure what you think you voted for. Because of the simplicity of the referendum question unfortunately our only choice was leave or stay.

As for the detail... well no-one promised us how that was going to work unfortunately. Technically this current chimera of a deal is as valid as a full fat brexiteer deal, based on the question asked of us at the time of the referendum.

As long we leave that's all you Brexiters care about, leave means leave remember?

There's no form of leave which we benefit from

it's just damage limitation
