It's got nothing to do with any of that. It's about self determination primarily. Trotting out these tired old cliches is all the Remains have left. And making a connection to football hooliganism is really laughable. I should remind everyone that the worst football hooliganism in Britain was predominantly under a Labour government in the 70's. Not that that is any more relevant than banging on about a few nobbies kicking off at the Euros.

Won't we just all go back to being countries competing and sometimes clashing because our bonded economic interests have separated? Countries tend to fight less when they are locked-in and have strong common financial interests at stake.

I haven't heard a single cogent argument from the Remain camp, and no argument of any kind that isn't rooted in scaremongering or the interests of global corporations. I refuse to accept that the fifth largest economy in the world would be left isolated, trade-wise. Brexit, however, offers self-determination, control of our own borders and the power to eject those who govern. It lets us shape our own destiny rather than trust in an unelected and unaccountable bureaucracy in Brussels. The EU is nothing but a wannabe superstate largely dominated by the Germans which will spread its tentacles further and wider if we vote to stay in. Brexit would be the first step towards bringing the whole rotten deck of cards crashing down. The flight from federalism would spread like wildfire throughout Europe. Brexit is not without certain risks, sure, but I have every confidence that Britain can not only survive but thrive outside the pernicious institution that is the EU. Dont believe the lies. Out. Ok. I get it,if something doesn't accords with your particular narrow world view,its rubbish which has nothing to do with why many (not all) favour Brexit (and why that's a bad idea). And my connection was to silly nationalisms and its present day manifestations rather than to football specifically. What's laughable to me are those who trot out cliches repeatedly but are so unaware of it they lay into anyone else by suggesting they are doing that, rather than actually dealing with the underlying points...ho hum. Actually arguably the worst "football hooliganism" I ever experienced was at the time of the Tory Heath government 1970-74.But for anyone to link it with any party government is simply inane,no?... My answer is Nato and if you like more specifically article 5.
