Do you believe in Parliamentary Democracy?

If so then you must also accept Parliament taking decisions you don't agree with, as we all must. Especially Boris Johnson.

What justification is there for a Remain option? Remain lost. It's done. Over. You don't get a second bite at the cherry. Varients of Leave then perhaps there is an argument to be made but Remain is simply not an option.

If Parliament decides that it wishes to consult the people again it can do so on whatever terms it decides.

And they can ommit over 75s and allow over 16s as should have been the first rule.
Parliament has it's good points and can make the rules.

Kind of ironic as you dont agree with the decision to hold a referendum or its result

Just as a popint of interest Wisbech what would be your solution to this mess??

My preference would be to cancel the whole debacle and hold a 5 year moratorium during which we negotiate a revised relationship with the EU which probably means we would stop being full members but have some kind of associate membership.

That though seems unlikely to happen for a variety of reasons so my solution would be to request an extension for 6 months, hold a GE later this year and let the new Parliament decide what to do next.

If the Tories, Brexit Party and DUP gain a majority then we leave with no deal. If the opposition Parties who desire a second referendum gain a majority then we hold a referendum, much as I dislike them. If there is a hung Parliament then compromises will need to be sought.

Didnt we try for years to get a revised relationship and ended up banging our heads against the wall as the EU dont negotiate, they tell others what will happen?

There is nothing ironic involved in believing in the supremacy of Parliament as the place where final decisions are made. Referendums have no place in our system. The 2016 one only gained any legitimacy through Parliament, which they can just as easily remove.

Just like us they now have the benefit of experience and hindsight. They have gazed into the abyss and won't want to go there again.

I doubt whether Wissy will like that as it will rule him out

Okay but the Electoral Commission has previously ruled out this type of multiple choice question as too confusing. As they approve the "question" my understanding is that it will have to binary.

Now bearing in mind that people complained about the binary question asked in 2016 I think you can multiple those complaints for this type of question.

What happens if someone votes Remain and No Deal.

I get your frustration it's messy which is why we are where we are today.

There are only 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Why not have it on the ballot if you don't like the deal or no deal you can change your mind 3 choices make the argument for or against each.

Why is remain not an option? They lost but if the deal on offer or no deal is not what you want regardless of how you voted why not give people the option.

FPTP obviously cannot guarantee that, even if it were true. I think he’d go to leave with giving everything away. Stay in the customs union, open door policy, roll on the floor and have his tummy tickled after promising to leave with a sensitive voice and ear to a political union that wants to stuff us and tear our sphincters open. He’d probably agree to that in Brussels as well seeing as he’s weak and shows no loyalty to his nation, pretty much like all the hysteria going on by the whingeing minority

Get on with it Boris and backhand these clowns for good so we can get on with what we want.
