Two words...too expensive.

The car park could be under a new Sainsbury's if the building were raised. It does not have to be below ground level.

We need to get cracking with this. We're already very far behind most other London clubs and with West Hams move and Spurs having their WHL upgrade approved, we're going to be plunged into the dark ages.

I was really impressed with the stadium which held the champions league final. The upper tier hung over the Lower quite considerably creating a closer view & atmosphere . The over hang would be good for a small footprint like selhurst park.

That was the San siro, which is owned by the Milan council.
Quite easy to have what ever you want in a ground , when the people that you need to get planning off is yourself.

Sorry to say this, but it's fast coming to a position where Palace will just fall out of the league of clubs looking to become 'big'. The oportunities have been spurned several times over the years and now time has pretty much run out. The only way to go is for Palace to move and share a bigger stadium/stadia for several years until a new ground is built. Don't waste money on trying to make the grand ol' place better/bigger. Get down to the Olympic or weed ground or The Bridge until a place is erected on Purley way or Crawley or similar. Otherwise, smaller and smaller and less relevant will Palace drift.

What a load of bO**ocks. If the main Stand was done Selhurst would hold over 30 thousand , that we'd do well to fill.
I'd rather drift than move out of South London to f*cking Crawley.

The San Siro doesn't have a bad seat. Having been there for a CL game (an experience any football fan would love), the steepness is breathtaking. If we are going to rebuild SP and not turn it into a soul-less bowl or terrible acoustically, like The Emirates, then a look at the San Siro plan would be a must. The noise is incredible.

On a side note, if you think Millwall are bad fans, in 2001 the Inter fans did this in a game vs Atlanta. [Link]

I refuse to believe there are that many people out there that can't spell. Too f**king lazy, that's what I think.

You are absolutely right it is complete crap.
Purley Way has been explored before and for a number of reasons its a no.
As far as Crawley is concerned. 1. There is a small matter of a league club already residing there, we would need permission from Crawley Borough Council (which will not be granted. 2. its too far away. 3. If it happened we would in the short term be isolating the majority of our fans and in the long term would shrink our own catchment area.
And yes, If the Main stand was done the stadium capacity would go up to 28,000/30,000 straight away AND the plan is to build over the top of the existing stand meaning the fitting of new seats etc could be done close season and the gates would not have to suffer as a consequence of the work.

Like I said earlier in the thread, you would be very naive to think the only things that have stopped us expanding have been money and being in the Prem.
So many stumbling blocks with selhurst we will be lucky to get a new main stand.
