I don't know about South Norwood country park in between Croydon Arean and Elmers End station.

I doubt Norwood Lakes would happen due to objections and the transport links aren't great and there's pretty much one main road and bits with speed humps.

I agree about transport links but, I admit I have not been there for many years but the playing fields there used to be used by my school, Selhurst Grammer (long since gone) who owns them, it was a massive area.

Some of the places mentioned are a nine starter eg South Nirwood Lakes. At best you'd probably only get planning permission on a brown field site somewhere.

The Sainsburys chairman was asked about SP's comments and Sainsburys stance today and he said he wasn't aware of them. Apparently he is going to go away and look into it

It could with the right organisation and getting some fans from other clubs involved. With the power of social media it just needs to be perceived as successful rather than being actually a success

I would be against it based on the fact at the moment they don't seem to have done anything wrong.

The obvious place for Crystal Palace is Crystal Palace.
The national sports centre is a tired old wreck. It could easily carry a 40,000 stadium and has the infrastructure. That's where we should be heading.......home.

Tis true....When you take emotion for Selhurst out of it.

I think long term it's the only sensible option, if we were ever going to become a big club.

Will it happen with all the wealthy nimbys living there?

Time will tell.

For what? We sold them the land and they're under no obligation to sell it back to us or help us out in any way whatsoever. At least they're prepared to enter into discussions on it; they could just tell us 'no' and there's not a thing we could do about it. It's not Sainsbury's fault that previous owners were so shortsighted when it came to making a bit of cash.

Bad publicity I suppose....clubs being wary of entering into these types of arrangements with them rather than other supermarkets perhaps. Bad blood between Salisbury's and some fans, which isn't good for the local store.

I think there is a downside if they aren't reasonable. But sure, they could play hardball. I don't think it's sensible business for them though.

Very few 'locals' are the slightest bit interested in CPFC or it's problems with Sainsbury's. As already mentioned, who is going to have any sympathy for a PL football club, arguing about the price of a bit of land, that it sold in the first place, when everyone knows that the PL is awash with money. If anyone is looking like they stink it's us, with our £550m turnover since promotion.

CPFC2010 bought the club and the ground on the cheap and couldn't, in their wildest dreams, have expected the kind of return that they've received on their investment. We had a windfall from the Pulis case, ending with us not having to pay his £3m bonus, despite his keeping us in the PL. We've had a £50m injection of cash from the US investors, so £53m, without having to dip into our TV cash. It's difficult for any outsider to see why we're making an issue of this.

Parish seems to have an almost pathological desire to squeeze every last penny out of every deal, but he needs to accept that there are occasions, and this is one, where he doesn't hold the strongest hand. If Sainsbury's are quoting a price, and they're not prepared to move on it, then we either pay it or we come up with another plan. It's no skin off Sainsbury's nose if we don't want to deal.

We will get very little sympathy from the wider football community. It's not like we're one of those really hard done by clubs that are under threat of or have actually lost their grounds. We're beginning to look like a bunch of nouveau riche boys having a sulk because we can't get our own way in a predicament that our great grandfather got us into in the first place.
