Plus we have other options involving formation tweaks. We cannot do absolutely everything and solve all our problems in one window. A solid work in progress.

You forget that these players come with bigger wages etc, so its not the transfer fee that alone matters. re this whole replacing Jedi thing. As you could see from the last match we are changing our playing style from 2 wide men (winning corners) with defensive CMs to pass and move with higher pressing from Midfield, poss under a 442 formation (though too early to tell). Three points in answer to that

The better the first team the more you can afford to have a mediocre squad player come in to cover.

Equally some of last season's first teamers are now those squad players.

Window isn't closed yet.

When you only want to sign upgrades then you will get rebuffed. I'd rather sign quality than sh*t squad fillers, we have enough of those.

Let's see how the season goes with whatever players we get in, I love these crystal ball posts.

In our first season back in the Premier League we bought unpteen players half of whom never made the first team. You can't provide for every position at one go it takes time.But there is no denying the quality of players we have is improving season on season.
