You can see all this leading to child's entertainers and circus clowns getting a good kick in just for doing there job and mistaken identity.

Assuming there wasn't evidence of excessive force, it has to go down as self defence right? If you argue you were frightened and just reacted on impulse. They'd be fair game so long as you didn't use a weapon I'd think.

What is the point of clowns. As a rule they're not funny, nor scary, nor capable of any really marketable entertainment skills. This is why kids grow up scared of clowns, because they spent years in terror approaching every birthday party, scared that they would be forced to witness the soul destroying spectacle of a grown adult being patronised by children for money. They're one allegation away from being a hobo Certainly, when I was a kid, my first birthday party clown made me realise that its possible to fail really badly in life. Clowning for money, is basically one down from begging.
