Under The Frog, by Tibor Fischer, is well worth reading, as mentioned earlier. Arguably one of the funniest and most tragic books I've ever read, certainly the funniest book about playing basketball...

Generally non-fiction. I'm currently reading 'Psychology and Criminal Justice' and 'Introduction to the UK Legal System'. I'm a very boring reader. I did recently read some books on Fred West, which led to an interesting discussion with a friend of mine (a Forensic Archeologist) who's been trying to get funding to revisit the 'West's' cases - He reckons there are a lot more bodies out there). Ah yes, we've discussed this before as I have a passing interest in serial killers and my Mrs just got her degree in Criminology and Forensic something or other (I dread the day she asks me if I know what her degree is in). And if there aren't more dead bodies at the hands of the Wests then I'd eat my hat. I think that's probably a very widely held belief, especially given Fred's somewhat confused accounts of things and his naive attempts to keep Rose out of the effluent.

This is a bit of me. My bookshelves are full of law and crime books. Read Fred and rose by Howard sounes. He was the journalist who broke the story and covered the entire thing. Looks into their childhoods and why they may have turned out the way they did and how they were drawn together. It's very well written. Edited by Michaelawt85 (24 Oct 2016 2.20pm)

Looks into their childhoods and why they may turned out the way they did and how they were drawn together. It's very well written. Read "Rose West - The Making of a Monster" by Jane Carter Woodrow as well. Not the best written first few chapters (she writes as though she thinks she is writing a TV show) but another good book to flesh things out. Another non-fiction book I'd recommend is "Helter Skelter" by Vincent Bugliosi. He was the attourney for the state in the prosecution of the Manson family. So much behind the scenes information. In particular it's interesting to consider how far behind they were in terms of forensics back then, but also how many mistakes they made during the evidence gathering for the Tate and La Bianca cases. Unbelievable some of them.

Wicked beyond belief by michael bilton is also excellent for anyone with a legal / killer interest. Given that Peter sutcliffe is the subject of the lengthy book its not written in a gory way whatsoever. All the victims are their lives and families are discussed at great length. As is the investigation to identify him. It also shines a light on a little known and not often mentioned fact to the case. That he wore a pair of modified trousers which had re inforced knees and we're crotchless. Edited by Michaelawt85 (24 Oct 2016 2.14pm)

Any of Carol Ann lees books . One from the brother in law of myra hindley (he blew the whistle on her and bradeys antics) one written exclusively about hindley and another about the Ruth Ellis case. I believe she has written a book about the jeremy bamber case which I would like to read also. Forensics by val mcdemid is excellent. Fascinating . Very digestible and you can dip in and out of it.

My recommended authors, other than those others have already mentioned;
