Just some blame? I don't see how you could find Allardyce equally culpable for someone else's mess.

For some people on this site Pardew seems to have been absolved from blame and that the results of the last year were just a blip in Pardew's rollercoaster form pattern.

It's clear that people have an agenda with Sam, but to pine after Pardew is frankly bizzare! We scored goals this season but only because we had neglected the defensive side of the game, you can't bomb everyone forward and expectt the other team not to attack.

The defensive steel and fitness that had been instilled in the team thanks to Pulis fell to the way side. Which was clear to see with the number of late goals and the tactical deficiencies not to know when to see out a result.

What is with the myth that we played good football, as far as I could see it was intermittent, 20 mins here and there. The teams would quickly adjust to our "tactic" and then we would be left with the long diagonals.

With Pardew we neglected key positions despite numerous transfer windows. Left defence, defensive midfield and an attacking midfielder were sacrificed for one big signing in Benteke. At least Sam has seemed to address this.

In my eyes he made a variety of stubborn decisions that have not paid off. Dropping Speroni from the off, switching back and forth between the other two liabilities. Consistently playing Kelly at leftback even tho he was being ruined every game. Stripping the team of leadership and getting rid of Jedinak without a replacement. Making an example of Zaha, even tho he was clearly our standout player and finally dropping Puncheon in the cup final for someone who had been out for a long period of time. I despair at some of the mismanagement and lack of forward thinking we've had to endure all in the name of "transition".

People will bring up the cup run and of course it was brilliant but somewhat covered the massive cracks. I'm glad we're out of the cup, it goes to show how weak the depth of our squad is. Pardew really did bring in some dross, Mutch and Lee are prime examples and the jury is still out on Townsend and Mandanda.

The media have fooled some of the palace faithful into thinking they're too good to go down. For the majority of us we've seen that there was a problem long before the start of this season.

The fix won't be quick and Sam does have a job on his hands, people need to get off of his back! Whoever came in this was going to be a difficult job.

Exactly. If I smashed a room to pieces and someone else was given the task of fixing it back up within a couple of hours. Whose fault would it be that the room couldn't be fixed in time? Cheeky little ananolgy for Sunday morning.

And if after 3 hours the room didn't look even remotely better I'd have serious reservations about your abilities.
I backed Pardew out and Sam in, trouble is it is actually worse at the moment and constantly bleating about how we've been Pardewed doesn't wash and frankly is getting tiresome.
I had high expectations of new manager bounce getting us up and running, I now only have expectations of us going down. Sorry.
