Of course I give him credit. I didn't want him here in the first place, remembering him only too well in his playing days and his not overly impressive record as a manager.
However, unlike you with Allardyce, I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. Like so many of his previous jobs he started off well and then, true to form, the rot set in.
You seem to have become judge, jury and executioner all rolled into one with regards Allardyce.
Christ, new employees usually get a 3 month probationary period, don't they? Not just a few weeks!
Fact is, if he keeps us up he'll have performed a minor miracle with the mess left him. Go down and I know who should shoulder most of the blame and it's not the 'fat northerner' you despise.

that sounds fantastic...maybe parish & the yanks should check the small print in his contracf

Every Palace fan knows that.

I know that the point I am making is sometimes people need to get a grip about it

Think Clitenburgs decision on Wilf has damaged us more than we knew. That decision probably stopped Sam getting the massive impact win in his first game and us getting the old new manager bounce.
I am worried, but Sam didn't get Sunderland going straight away, so there's still time. My biggest concern is that Sam really doesn't seem like the Sam we all know. Not sure how damaged he is after the England stitch up.

He's always been your dour, archetypal northerner though, hasn't he? I know what you mean though.
I happen to believe that he has sorely underestimated the depth of damage the previous incumbent has left him with.

I haven't got a bad word to say about Parish except to say that his loyalty to the previous dope could end up costing us, but more importantly him and the Shermans, very dearly.

Why are people so obsessed with Brighton and Newcastle passing us on our way down. Yes its galling but seriouslyI. Forget about it. Who gives a flying f*** about them. IF Brighton come up they will be favorites for the drop next season. Rather we paid attention to our own situation and stopped bloody obsessing about what other clubs are upto

You must be a nouveau supporter if you don't understand why Brighton's promotion, especially if we're relegated, would be anathema to any proper Palace fan.

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!

You might do when he gives the same time to the present dope. And we are mid table in a league below.

But rivalries are what make football great.
Don't know about you but I'd go to my grave happy if they never got promoted to the top flight again. In fact, I wouldn't want them to win a tiddly wink match in the world tiddly wink championships for all professional league clubs.
Which takes place biannually in April I believe.

Bournemouth are getting a bit of the Palace-style nose bleed atm, expect a result ground out on Tuesday b4 Sunderland's suicidal transfer policy sees us beat them on Saturday and the momentum will see us take the necessary points from the other teams around us and the other under-motivated midtable clubs like West Brom in the coming weeks. Sam's football is pragmatic but not route 1, more crosses from deep than long balls with lots of very thoughtful movement re setting up mismatches or outnumbering defenders - he's balancing the squad, trying to get more physical presence in midfield to protect the defence, which may be a three man defence to release another offensive player - good or bad whatever type of run you're in always seems to be forever when you're in it - for all the fight of Hull they can't stay up selling the likes of Snodgrass, Sunderland must pay for continuing not to invest adequately - we just need to beat one more team to stay up: Watford or Boro I would say, think Burnley have enough, Leicester are not out of this. This 'Sam is damaged goods/unmotivated' stuff is premature and a big over-reaction - Pardew left the club with a squad without balance, coherence or enough options to play in different ways. The current situation doesn't give Sam enough time, but once his additions gel I expect us to do what we did under Pulis and Pardew and pull clear - I think the bookies are expecting that too.

I agree with you.
We can only hope that it gets better soon although if Schlupp is now injured it just gets worse again especially with the Van Aanholt transfer taking so much time.
He is going to have to somehow work with what we have got!

About Parish? No, still wouldn't say a bad word against him.
If we do go down, Allardyce stays on and we're making no progress promotion wise then I don't think Parish will be so naive as he was with Pardew.
He's had his fingers burnt once. I can't see an astute man like him dropping 2 bollocks in a row.

So you must have been ok with it when Parish sold more than half the club to a bunch of near-invisible Yanks.

It's not a sin to be critical of our chairman as he himself admits to making mistakes.

He's not shown that he is up to it at this level. His luck is about to run out.

Oh I'm well aware that he's not above criticism - no-one is. And I'm sure he sold part of the club to the yanks with its best interests at heart as well as his own.
In an ideal world, one in which we stay up, get redevelopment permission and properly cement a mid table place then those yanks could turn out to be a godsend.
But that's life, isn't it?
Who knows?
