Everyone waiting with 'Baited breath' for the announcement of 'Van Aanholt' with great expectancy and anticipation. I of course hope he does well, but we will be signing a left-back who is not that good defensively and whose strength lies in bursting down that left-wing.Hang on ! - we already have someone who can do that, it is not as if we are short of width down the flanks ! We really need strength in that midfield "Engine room" - if you control that vital area you generally do well in the game.We are lightweight and ineffective in this key area. There have been loadsa rumours about signing a CB (Mbembe/Collins for example) and a DM (McCarthy/M'Vila) as well as the neverending Jenkinson saga so clearly BFS is trying to strengthen in these areas. If these come off we will be very happy Holmesdalers, but if they dont' then the Championship beckons....

I happen to believe that Schlupp was signed very much to be primarily a wide player and not a left-back, hence going after PVA to play at the back. Allardyce has been trying to strengthen in a number of areas but has been thwarted left,right and centre.I have said before that we need 5 new players and I still hold that view.
