In other news, Donald Trump appointed Director General of the BBC..... One problem with typing late at night can be mis-typing. You typed BBC - did you mean to type GCHQ?

Being a snivelling Remainer, he will no doubt use the Standard as a vehicle for spreading his undemocratic bile.

This. Either your an MP or your not. No second jobs, no conflict of interest. Being an MP, as you say, should be a full time job. Trouble is you only get career politicians. But then how do normal folk become politicians now if it's not a career? Y afraid Goch is right. He can't do both. Gideon thinks he can. We'll be won't be doing either properly. It must be in name only. Strange appointment. A man booed in the Olympic stadium, in London, where the paper is read.

It was bad enough Boris thinking that it was ok to be a part time London Mayor, now Osborne thinks it's ok to be an MP and hold 5 other jobs.

This thread is just more hypocritical tripe from Gusset. The left bang on about paranoia and prejudice and yet here it is displayed by a lefty. You might think that the man is a cretin or that MP's should not have two jobs but the fact that he is a Tory MP is by the by. I didn't hear anyone on the left claiming bias when Alan Yentob was director of the BBC for example. That worked out well didn't it. Give me a break.

Nice rant Hrolf but I don't have a problem with a right wing politician taking over the post of editor of a right wing newspaper. I have more of a problem with an MP having multiple jobs whilst still coining his full salary as an MP.
