Strawman response.

I didn't say we didn't need any migrants. I spoke about the level of migration not stopping all of it.

Japan is an island nation just as we are. Your original argument was not focused upon things like 'DNA'...which is a ridiculous argument. Your argument was based upon stating that mass migration was needed for economic success. This argument isn't only false but it's ignorant of actual economic realities in places such as Japan.

The Japan reality blows your original argument out of the water and now you want to refer to cultural difference!

Here's another piece of reality for you Kermy, not all the Japanese are genetically the same either.

The coming decades will see computer automation change the realities of economics via the workplace...it is already happening and Japan has not suffered any economic collapse or damage to its standard of living due to its policies and desire to keep social cohesiveness.

You know what? I have never once actually said that yet you keep finding it from thin air and throwing it back at me.

Ok, net EU migration was 280,000 last time reported. It sounds a lot but only 15%-17% or so didn't have a job to actually go to it was said at the same time.

That means with Brexit there is a ticking time-bomb for many employers as plenty of these jobs would be work that British people could do but for one reason or another don't/won't. And those reasons don't appear to be being tackled head-on by anyone in power at the moment.

"We must get out at all costs!"

Well we are certainly going to be doing that.

edit: I'm not quite sure if this is what you wanted post-Leave but even the Brexit Secretary bigs-up flexible numbers for uk-bound migrants according to need. [Link]

We are on the wrong thread but anyway surely EU net migration is 100,000 fewer its about 180,000.

No one wants slave labour, its uneconomical outside of an agricultural economy. Its not just the Tories either, the last Labour government weren't exactly out of corporate pockets either (in fact...).

Pretty sure that the Government will 'go out of Brexit' but ensure that existing EU workers can remain long term in the UK, and avoid any really stringent rules on working migrants who are currently employed. They won't make it particually difficult to get working visas, and almost a formality for EU member states.

Ultimately, the UK governments interests will be in corporate interests - And post Brexit they'll focus on this dramatically and justify it as 'necessary for keeping businesses in the UK' Expect to see lower corporation and high end income tax bands and more spending cuts to pay for it.
