They don't necessarily have to, of turned out to be the best for us. The manager that before a tactical plan was put in place, left you think I can't believe he's the next Palace manager.

For me it has to be Ian Holloway at the time, 2 years old before he took the prem league by storm with Blackpool. After Freedman leaving I thought that that would of derailed promotion chance.

Who was the last Palace manager that you was excited about.

Pardew, having taken him from Newcastle, he arrived with a bit of promise about him. Shame it didn't work out for us but he gave us some good memories!

Other than that, I'm looking forward to our next manager. Not overly enthusiastic for the links with Dyche though, has to be said

Sam Allardyce. He turned a bunch of headless chickens into a team capable of beating Chelsea and Liverpool in their own back yards and I was excited about what he was going to do for us in the next season

Allardyce for me to. Took a little time but managed to get us out of what looked like nailed on relagation.

Peter Taylor was another for me. Was excited at the time of his appointment but sadly produced some of the most boring negative performances I have ever seen at Palace.

To be honest Pardew, local lad with a good track record. This time last year he was a Palace hero, however is stubbornness and arrogance got in the way . Shame .

Yeah, I'd go with that.

Allardyce for me. You just had a sense that he was a top class coach, and put together excellent analytics, with improved fitness, spot on tactics, and somehow got all the players performing to their best., As an example, he got Kelly performing like an excellent CB, never having been given a chance there by any previous manager

We have such terrific memories of him as a player but it never worked out for him as a manager at our club.

That said, he has a few promotions on his record as a manager and one cannot take that away from him.
Understand that he is currently 'Director of football' at Gillingham, one of the clubs he has led to promotion.

Dougie Freedman did quite well didn't disappoint.

Following Allardyce a new manager will have a mountain to climb the expectation is so high and I expect the budget to be lower.

A 'poisoned chalice?' let's hope not.

Freedman produced some of the dullest football ever seen from Palace and only bucked his ideas up when SP had a word.

Ian Holloway. With his experience in getting Blackpool to the prem, thought we had a safe pair of hands to guide us up. Was abit rocky towards the end of the season, but bringing in super Kev was inspired and his tactical nous in the playoffs, led us to where we are now.
