She comes across as a good administator....so a good minister to have working for you.

As a leader she appears not to have the necessary presence to connect with voters....She ducked out of face to face debates which was an incredibly bad decision to make....If you don't front up people lose respect....She comes across as a typical 'blue rinser' who's a bit wet and sensitive to criticism.....outside of that middle class dynamic I don't think she would get many 'don't know' votes.

Still, she is talented and if I were putting together a Tory cabinet of the talents she'd be in it.

Getting the 'don't knows' to vote for you is what wins elections....No point pandering to those that hate you.

Pretty much agree, I think she's a very good minister but no so good a Prime Minister. Her getting on with the job is good but unfortunately the Top job is as much about PR as it is about governing and she doesn't have much appetite for spin.

Yes, one of the many threads you have started with the sole intention of plastering it with Nickbot Labour propaganda.

Bore off. We all know what you are.

You don't have an opinion on may, but you're happy to go from thread to thread having a pop because someone has a different opinion.

Cheer up though. You are not at Nick's level just yet. His credibility is below non existent.

And again, no real counter argument, just an ad hominem attack on me.

Good work.

Whatever our political leanings the next year is going to be very interesting....No one knows what the political landscape will be like this time next year.

If I had to bet I'd go with another election and Johnson with a small majority or Corybn leading a collation.

Please god no. I could live with a Corbyn collation (as they'd be probably the Lib Dems to put the brakes on) - But Boris Johnson as PM would be disaster.

In fact I suspect if Boris Johnson was to become leader of the Conservatives, it would be tantamount to handing Labour a majority government. Outside of the Conservative party he is a liability, who's ambitions for the top job were killed by the deceit printed on the side of a bus.

Moderation - You are on a yellow card - Please be careful as I don't want to see it turn red. Following posters from thread to thread has seen people carded before.

I'll be the first to concede, the recent events would have made any PMs life easy.

What are people's thoughts on her as she's moved from Strong and stable to where she is now?

Can she survive the next few weeks? Is she the architect of her own downfall?

The alliance with the DUP, has effectively I think killed her, but the party would be quite happy to stave off that death until she can take responsibility for the consequences of leaving the EU (of which its inevitable there will be some). However, if Brexit is a total success, it'll save her career.

Recent events have helped highlight that she was a disaster in the Home Office.

Johnson is the only Tory with a chance of winning a majority from the options I can see.

If the Tories don't choose him when the time comes I really think they would show that they don't learn their lessons very well.

I think he's too much of a liability outside the party. Unpopular as a mayor, forever associated with 'that lie' on Brexit he'd cost them too many votes in the north, Scotland and liberal / conservative swing seats to win an election. He'd need I think to really revive his public profile back to the days, and these days Have I got News for You isn't really going to cut it.

There are also probably more than a few skeletons in the closet.

Plus he couldn't even get 'on the ballot' at the last Tory leadership election round.

You're right. Johnson was once seen as a lovable buffoon, but that mask is slipping nowadays. Posh, privileged but mostly inept, he hardly aligns well with the concerns about decent, ordinary people, which is fast becoming the mood of the moment.

David Davis would draw in wavering support so is a good option in my view.

Perhaps but I can't see them winning with anyone else.....Johnson has that kind of bullet proof thing about him....a bit like Trump and well apparently Corbyn now.

How long do you reckon she's got left. Will the Queen's speech be passed?

As long as you've got that secret poster of her inside your wardrobe door.
