I think that Labour will financially mismanage the NHS, but in doing so provide shorter waiting less, better coverage, health care etc.

Largely because most of the people who vote Labour are also locked into using the NHS. Its a tradition, even of Communism, that provision of health care to its population, tends to exceed its economic rivals.

That's not a defence of say Soviet Communism - but a reasonable point, that compared to similar economic scaled countries and regional countries, the scope and provision of health care was above norm.

Of course its not because they're better ethically or morally, but its an effective 'bribe' to the people to tolerate them. Similarly you see the same kind of rise in literacy and educational achievement.

I think its a realistic criticism of labour and the conservatives, is that they survive by peddling a deception to the people on public services. One claims you can still have the same level of service and pay less in tax. The other that you can have better levels of service, and not pay extra tax for it.

There is always a consequence to change. We're just a nation that likes to believe that they're entirely avoidable.

Even if it had been called "Day of Peace" I wouldn't put it past the protesters to spit on people and egg their cars.
