45K a week is cheap in todays market. A replacement squad player would cost around the 10 million mark and their subsequent wage demands. We haven't got money to burn. We need to spend it on someone who offers quality. He's under contract and there ain't clubs banging at the door for his signature.

It's cheap for someone who'll be picked, not for someone who plays a month's worth of football in 2 or 3 years. Jenkinson would've been on £45k for a comparison.

£45k is about the average for a PL player according to the Daily Mail (albeit, that was 2 years ago).

He's not though is he? He's a championship player who sits on a prem bench.

Or did you mean Frank is trying to get him in shape to work in the club shop or behind the bar or burger counter in the lower Holmesdale. Maybe they're always short of waiters in Speroni's on matchdays. Will need silver service experience.

Probably trying to set up a loan deal.

Been seen in the Sainsbury's car park I believe. Tasty jerk.

Tidying trolleys? He could be a traffic steward on Holmesdale road so little need for fitness. In fact he could do a job before kick off with his kit on underneath and join the bench at 2.55. No need to be in the dressing room for team talks if you're only ever going to get on for about 30 mins a season.

I'm saying he's paid the average Premierleague wage as of two years ago. He is definitely not average for the Premierleague, though! I honestly think he'd struggle to get in decent Championship sides now.

its all relative tho isnt it...his £45k a week wages IS a lot of money for a player who gets minimal gametime and bar a few good weeks at the start of his palace career has produced f*** all towards the cause.

if we could get rid we could give a kid on 10% of his wages a place in the bench as lets face it, they couldnt do worse pound for pound.

weve had a fair few of these leaches at the club since we got promoted like guerdioura, mutch & frazier campbell to name a few, in hinesight we should have put a kid in the squad instead of spunking millions...i bet fees & wages these 4 players have cost the club almost £25m which is laughable.

so to sum up...45k a week is an awful lot of money

I'm sure that many of us would have done lots of things differently if we had the benefit of hindsight and Palace are no exception.

Simon Jordan would have paid the agents fees and signed Tim Cahill for starters

And with respect to Riedewald, it is rumoured history may be repeating itself.

This guy has potential but considering his currently an Ajax reserve should we be bent over backwards to pay the agent fee. If we don't want to pay it, I'd just wished me moved on.

He's a big unit, stong and powerful...a big central defender could be a good position for him.
