I've supported Palace for many years and always hated GAO. To see a bunch of hairy-arsed blokes singing "You say that you love me..." Always strikes me as odd (at least), and I wished we replaced it. It's not even a phrase used in common parlance (I'm feeling glad all over) as it may have been in the 60's (willo can confirm that).

But I guess I'll get flamed.... COYP.

Why are you looking at their arses? Not sure it's the song that's the problem.

Haha, please don't mistake me for one of those chaps from the coast.... Come to think of it a 'chap from the coast' could be a useful euphamism

Glad all over is great but wouldn't say it is the best out there. It's a little happy clappy as well.

Must say that Millwall's 'Let em come' is a great song. Mainly because it is actually a song about Millwall and for a club with not much else to crow about, it has a sense of pride about it.
Chelsea's is decent and about the only time you get any sense of atmosphere at their ground. Wolves is great and I like the way they play the whole song out while the players ping the ball about in position ready to kick off.

"We love you Palace, we f@cking hate Man U, We love you Palace, we hate the brighton too, We love you Palace we play in red 'n' blue, so f@ck you, and you ...

I suppose it's not great, but it's got a few things going for it:

(1) Having been played at Selhurst for over 50 years, it's part of our DNA. So as a very old sentimentalist I'd really miss it.

(2) Opposition fans hate it, particularly when it's played after we've scored.

(3) It gives everyone an opportunity to get in the mood by clapping and raising arms in unison as the players walk out.(I love watching the Holmesdale end doing that, but I wish they'd give up trying to sing it unaccompanied during play. It just doesn't work.)

I think you've summed it up very well there. Those of our own who profess to dislike it can, as far as I'm concerned, fcuk off.

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!

I think it's a great footy song but has earnt it's right to be modernised with a touch of faithless for good measure.

I don't think of it as an anthem just a good song for the players to come on to the pitch to.

London Calling is played at Fulham, QPR and Brentford and is brilliant.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I think we need a new tune personally but I realise it makes a lot of us happy.
