The ANL weren't going round beating up people of different skin colour, torching their businesses, shoving dogs**t through their letterboxes, vandalising their homes etc. They evolved more as a means of protecting those who protested the NF and their ilk, than anything else. I get the former but the latter better have a good personal reason for joining in.
