I am praying FDB works out for us. My major concerns are:

He has had 6 full weeks with those and it was like they met for the first time on Saturday.

Surely 6 weeks is enough time to get fairly comfortable with a system.

Why wait till opening game of the season and throw Ward to the wolves by playing him wing back.

He should never have started Fosu Mensah and Riedewald with Dann at the back. They are far from ready at the moment,
Id have rathered Ward Dann Schlupp as a back 3 with Townsend as Wing back.

Milivojevic was excellent for us last season and now he is been dragged out of position and looks a different player.

I am all for giving youth a chance but FDB has to realise that this is not the Dutch league where the majority of teams are average and players get yards of space.

We were very poor in every single game in pre season and now it has followed into the league.

FDB see's this job as a project that needs time, but we havnt got time, After Swansea, Burnley Southhampton then we play Man Utd, City, Chelsea.

We could end up being cast adrift by the end of September and then its panic stations.

I fear for this season if this keeps up.

It does seem a bit crazy going over the top after one game , predicting doom and a return to the Championship after one defeat.

The trouble is the game last Saturday encapsulated all those shortcomings that Palace have displayed on and off since our arrival in the Prem. in 2013. Poor passing, poor defending, poor crossing, lack of understanding between players, and losing at home to supposedly "lesser" sides. The things that have made survival a struggle in our four seasons at the top.

We arrived at Selhurst on Saturday full of hope - a new manager, some new players, a sea of blue and red flags on the Holmesdale as the team came out, a great atmosphere, and an optimism (perhaps misplaced) that this might be a new dawn for Palace... and then, within 20 minutes, reality strikes home. Things haven't changed and we are back to normal service, if not worse.

I think if we had played and competed better against Huddersfield and perhaps only lost by the odd goal then the reaction wouldn't have been so extreme. However, that wasn't the case - we were hapless and well-beaten by a Huddersfield team that many have predicted to go straight back down, but who looked a far superior and better organised outfit to us on the day.

The plain fact is that we haven't seen a hapless display like that since the Swansea game and if we'd built on what Sam left us, rather than tearing it all up and starting again, there's a good chance we'd have notched up three points on Saturday.

My main gripe is that we started last season with only one left back - who was then injured - which was pretty obvious for all to see.
This season we have started with one striker which is pretty obvious for all to see: we seem to love making the same mistakes over and over again. How many times have I wondered if you need to be a masochist to be a Palace fan?
Our squad is crap and very thin again and it seems we don't want to buy anyone else - or are just very slow.
Losing 3-0 against a s*** side is unlikely to make any quality players come here any quicker either. I seriously hope FDB is pragmatic enough to change back to the 4-5-1 and stop pissing around.

Do you get the impression that CPFC simply didn't have a clue on who to hire after Sam walked out. ?

It took long enough to find a replacement, and I wonder whether they just took FDB because he looked like the best out there at the time, without looking at the bigger picture (ie. we tried playing passing football last year and it almost got us relegated).

I don't expect anything from the Liverpool game but we simply can't drop points the following games. But I don't expect to win them.

Utter Nonsense
And heres why

Yes Sam took a while , BUT , we already had points on the board so therefore we only had to make adjustments on fitness and concentration to eventually get safe .

FDB has got it ALL wrong
We do not have players that can keep the ball ,
We have players that defend well ( better with Sakho ) and attack quickly
We have never EVER been able to string more than 6 passes together , maybe briefly with Venables in the old second division , but thats it .
The danger of giving FDB " a chance " or a " few games " is that we could very very easily LOSE every game and by December be 15 - 20 points adrift
YES , thats the reality .
Experiments and change is fine , but NOT in a division as lucrative as the Premier League
I think we should get rid of FDB as soon as possible and get in a manger that plays simple football that our players are capable of playing !!

I find your post bizarre along with many of the others who after 1 game or 90 minutes have mind their minds up that we are doomed.

You mention that we have the players who defend well...can you point these out as i must have missed them last season. Our defending was poor apart from a small amount of games when we had a 105k a week loan signing.

I cannot believe what i am reading on here. What planet are some of you on? Its one game!!! One game!!! You are all calling for the managers head and discussing who should replace him. Yes we should have beaten Huddersfield on paper but we did not so get over it and back the team. Everyone is frustrated about the lack of activity with regards to transfers etc but you need to give them until the end of the window. Do none of you remember what Steve Parish says? He worries enough for all of us.Most importantly Steve Parish in all his tenure has never ever let this club down and you have to remember that each time you think we are in trouble. So like I said get over it and back the team and the manager. We will not be 15-20 adrift by Christmas.

No it's not it's a completely different word and meaning. It's not a typo. And 'Germen?'

However, is English not your first language?
