There s a big debate among f1 fans about whether ladies should be able to race against men.

Genetically on average women have slower reactions compared to men.....then again, they are usually lighter....over the long races I suspect the reaction times are much more important.

But I have little doubt that individual women could beat men in races. But I'm also sure that if women actually had the potential to win at the top we would be seeing some.

It's an interesting one if you had that critical mass at the highest levels but we don't.

You know its fake, because he goes for the quickest root. A proper cabbie would take twice as long, getting there, the moment he heard the twing of a non-local accent.

And probably would have spent a bit of time banging on about UKIP.

I'm working in Wales at the moment - took a taxi to the station from the office - less than 2 miles, £11.50. I guess it was the accent.

I think you mean a mass-debate, especially if the likes of Danica Patrick are racing.

Incidentally, was walking the dog in the woods this morning, when a lady jogger (40's) ran past, and my dog chased after her.
She (the jogger) was wearing a jogging jacket and some skin-tight lycra leggings that were nearly see-through.

I chased after the dog, and jogger, but I felt if anyone had seen me (the dog is tiny), they may well have thought I was chasing the woman.
Fortunately she stopped, allowing ample time to gather the dog and store some erotic mental images as she did some push-ups.

Getting my camera out would have crossed the line, perhaps

I'd rather see neither race.

SKY should throw their weight behind female oiled bikini wrestling.

Good point, which I missed - This shouldn't cause someone to lose out, because the essential requirement for society.

I suspect that there is a kind of bias towards 'know factors' given the money involved in F1 and the cars. You go with what you know to work, until proven otherwise. Kind of like black managers in football - there is no reason why there should be a difference - but the risks involved in change are such, that why would you try something different - and consequently that has a knock on effect in keeping that bias alive.

Same way that we'd say that Premier League British Football is better than Australian football - sure some Ausies do stand out, but the reasons why the football quality is different isn't really genetic or biological, but financial and experiential bias.

The whole problem with 'sexual harrassment' is this:-

When are women going to stop doing it?

Pretty sure, it would be rather absurd position to assume that being of a specific racial group would affect the ability to manage a football team. The same kind of situation was seen in the US, and demonstrated to not be down to biological by social differences.

We also saw it with players (although admittedly for more overt racial reasons back in the 70s); it wasn't a case that suddenly a generation of black players were suddenly capable - but that the success of a key few who did break through, created a new 'baseline' of what worked.

Its a way of the world, people tend to go with an established formula, until someone breaks that mould.

When there is millions riding on a decision, people who are spending the money tend to be cautious, and risk averse.
