Foreign policy is designed to be advantageous to our nation. The quality of decision making may vary but second guessing people who have a better view of the big picture and often with hindsight is a luxury.
I don't believe for one moment that politicians are infallible, in fact, I believe quite the opposite, but that does not justify compounding one arguably poor decision with another.

What about moral obligation to help with some of the mess our foreign 'interventions' has lead to.

No thanks, but as an individual I recognise your right to undertake whatever personal obligations you feel.

We don't have one.

You don't seem to understand that life is a game of chess and in relative terms, we are the good guys.

One cannot see things in isolation when it suits one's ideology/party politics/personal wishy washy flexible moral code to do so.

I see asylum and refugee status as something completely divorced from migration. The UK migration rates are a problem.

In terms of asylum, the number of successful applicants have never exceeded the number of UK citizens leaving the country each year (at its highest its less than a 1 to 5 ratio).

And before people hit the lefty defence, I voted to leave the EU because of the excessive EU migration that was undermining UK citizens.

Even Farage wasn't against Asylum and refugees in terms of the UK accepting them. The only question really should be whether people are genuine in their application (and possibly a rationalisation and proper funding of the application system, and the deportation system).

The UK has never had an asylum or refugee problem in terms of population numbers, and traditionally those granted asylum or refugee status have a history of being very positive in their integration into UK society.

So callousness is the way forward.

Hmm.

I have great sympathy for refugees. Something our own Governments created.
Whilst Civil servants are subject to a pay cap, I think it imprudent to allow refugees in.

Pay for the refugees from MP's expenses claims.
They caused this 5hlt

apart from Blair , Brown and Cameron & Dubya who fked off sharpish

But it's not 'our' intervention. Although we voted for Governments, there were mass protests against both Iraq wars.

Let MP's pay for refugees, ....ahh I get it. They fcking won't. Too busy living a lavish lifestyle at everyone else's expense

Remember the 'Foreign Aid' the USA gave to Bhopal in the form of an unsafe chemical factory, and the pitiful compensation for generations of victims ?

Are you asking that I be shafted by the western Governments by taxing and moral obligation and then give my last breath to the victims of their abuse ?

How about the oil companies and weapons manufacturers ,that profited greatly from intervention, spend a proportion of their profits on making-good ?

Not a fking chance
