The hunt and those who participate need to get a worthwhile job ,perhaps charity work or some other useful activity.Prancing around after a fox In a ridiculous red coat and using a riding crop on a horse and a fellow human being makes me speechless but fortunately Oscar Wilde spoke eloquently about the vermin that hunt foxes.

Not much of an animal lover if he attacks the horse.

They were already breaking the law in order to protest what someone is doing legally, and on private land.

Me too I get fed up being stuck in this cage all day

And trespassing is trespassing.

If she'd fallen off the horse it could've been far worse than bruise. That's how Superman got taken down!

It could always be the case that both parties are in the wrong and deserve one another.

Self defence has to be within reasonable bounds, striking with a crop when someone is merely holding a horses bridle is stretching the law beyond breaking point.

I doubt it. The individual concerned was endangering himself, the rider and the horse. Probably already did damage to the horse's mouth. She asked him to let go and he refused. If you were in that situation - lets say someone grabbed your dog and swung it around to control you - what would you do? Knowing your dog was screaming with pain.

I'm not condoning hunting in any way, but surely these hunt saboteurs would be better of targeting unsanitary slaughterhouses & more pertinently Halal meat providers. Rather than pharmaceutical companies & research centres? They won't of course as it doesn't fit their narrative...

Rather than just legalising fox hunting again, which no one wanted or needed, they should have legalised both Fox Hunting and Hunt Sabbing.

Shouldn't have been banned in the first place, but the re-legalisation wasn't necessary either.

You say it's been re-legalised. Really? First I have heard of it.

Don't like hunting foxes but as a sport (without foxes) it's pretty much extreme cross-country which is great fun so I am told. I used to enjoy hashing which is considerably nearer to the ground.
