There is no reason to suppose the number of idiots is any higher amongst those who identify as Muslims as in any other similar group, for instance Christians. In fact the proportion of Christians who are idiots is probably higher, given that the intelligent ones are more likely to have renounced their faith. No-one is born Muslim, Christian or Atheist. It all depends on their experiences. In some countries a poor experience leads to high numbers of the radicalised. In our country, we provide a better experience, which we need to further improve. The more mature our Muslim communities become, the greater will be the chance that the extremism diminishes. We need to encourage and support that.

Here we are talking about Muslims as a homogeneous group, as if they all believe in getting virgins after death. Many of the younger, British educated ones, would laugh at such ideas. Of course, we can start rational dialogue with them. We aren't talking to the Ayatollah, are we? We talk to Christians, which is every bit an ideology driven by irrational beliefs. Those beliefs are just not so dangerous for us. We are indeed centuries apart from the beliefs of the radicals, just as we are from those fundamentalist Christians who believe in Creationism. It won't take centuries to change, though. Progress is running at breakneck speeds now. Your last line indicates you understand all of this, but you persist in the approach of lumping everyone into the same basket.
