As I get accused of repetition I think you will find I have. Several times! The law is the law. It exists for us all. Manipulation is a loaded word implying incorrect application but as redress via an appeal is always available I don't believe it to be true. Disingenuous as usual. You know exactly what is going on here.

They have run into problems with libel and invasion of privacy but failing to observe a reporting restriction? Please provide evidence.

If due process were as infallible as you claim there wouldn’t be any miscarriages of justice. There is a reason some barristers earn fortunes; if you can afford an O.J. Simpson “Dream Team” you’ll have a far better chance of getting off than a defendant on legal aid. I didn't claim it to be infallible, only that it matters. I agree that there is unfairness caused by the ability of the wealthy to hire the best lawyers and the relative weakness of legal aid. Unfairness that I would love to see improved.

You could Google reporting restriction on cases and find it's only these cases but I guess you still would think that was fine and above board. No agenda there. Just the good old law with Deputy P. Coltrane and Sheriff Hogg.

Those cases, whilst having some similarities on the face of things, are not directly comparable as the reporting was done after the jury had returned their verdict. Obviously the newspaper's lawyers advised that meant the reporting restrictions had been lifted. That was more a case of an error by the newspapers than any direct intention to flout the law. "Robinson" did his live broadcast whilst the jury was considering it's verdict, ie whilst the restrictions were clearly still in place. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (08 Jul 2019 11.22am)

Even the Guardian story can't hide the judge's and government's obviously anti Tommy agenda. Whilst time is wasted making sure Robinson goes down for filming outside a court - something he has already been jailed for - other real crimes taking place. I wonder how many stabbings there will be today and how many of the perpetrators will be banged up?
