Why? Miscarriages of justice do not equal persecution. Individuals can make mistakes. Humans are fallible. We are talking though of an entire system, which is not the same at all. A miscarriage can refer to either. Someone being incorrectly persecuted due to malign intent or just unjustly persecuted.....the outcome is still the same. It's a bit like the difference between being killed as an enemy or collateral damage.....You still end up dead. The people who pulled the trigger still hold the responsibility and history will record it.

Of course not. That's why there is a trial and why the defence is made. Due process is all important. It's where proof beyond a reasonable doubt is established.

I am neither stupid nor am I lying and am offended at the accusation! Looking at the circumstances objectively leads to only one conclusion! The man was found guilty of an offence. No opinions needed. That is a fact. I feel sad for those who believe our justice system, which is both admired and copied around the world, is capable of deliberately persecuting anyone. To have lost your faith in British justice is to lose your faith in Britain. The law might often be an ass but it is to everyone, without any special considerations. It persecutes no-one. It prosecutes those who it believes have committed a crime and where there is a reasonable expectation of a conviction. This idea that "Robinson" has been singled out for some kind of special treatment is just baloney. It suits him to portray himself as a victim. Next he will become a martyr. That the law was determined to ensure that he did not get away with what he did, and thus establish a dangerous precedent, looks likely. That not only makes sense it is also praiseworthy. That unctuous display toward the judiciary is fooling no one. You can't be that naive surely.

I support every single word Robinson says here and I hope Trump uses this opportunity. I've been saying that getting out of the country has been the best option for a while now for Robinson.....obviously there have been people in his ear suggesting that.

That's why appeals and judicial reviews exist. If evidence can be shown ( and not simply assertion and innuendo) then miscarriages will be identified and corrected. The suggestion was that the system supported persecution, when it doesn't. In this case our friend has every opportunity to overturn his conviction if the assertions you make are true. As he has more than a good motive to do so it will be illuminating to observe if he even tries.

I would certainly recommend Maine to TR. Lobster,Protestant, Most people are of English descent,over 90% white, Low income tax, very decent sales tax. One resident with TDS but apart from that all good.

Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Jul 2019 5.18pm) Let him prove that and he not only walks free he scores a huge political victory. I am not holding my breath! Such decisions may well be subjective for you and me but not for an experienced Judge, who will apply objective thresholds which must be reached before any guilty decision is made. That would apply whether or not the question being considered is subjective in nature. He will test himself objectively and if he believes there is a reasonable doubt that his objective criteria has been met then won't hand down a guilty verdict.
